RUSH: The chief of staff for Donald Trump, John Kelly, just walked into the White House press briefing and took over for a while, and its interesting on Fox theyre going gaga over it. It was great! We need more of this. This was awesome. And CNN is similarly disposed in covering it. We have a couple sound bites from it, and I want to get them out there now. Well go back to other things here.
What is crucial about this is the Drive-Bys are out saying that Tillersons gonna get fired, Kelly is gonna quit, everybody hates Trump, Trumps out of control, Trumps losing his mind, Trumps wandering the White House in his underwear cursing photos of previous presidents and asking why did it happen to me, and he says none of this is true. You people are making it up.
And he went in there to tell em hes not quitting and hes not getting fired and very little of whats being said about the White House right now has any validity to it. Hear it in his own words. Two bites, heres the first one.
KELLY: Although I read it all the time pretty consistently, Im not quitting today. I dont believe, and I just talked to the president, I dont think Im being fired today, and Im not so frustrated in this job that Im thinking of leaving. I will tell you this is the hardest job Ive ever had. This is in my view the most important job I ever had. I would offer though it is not the best job I ever had. Best job I ever had, as I said many times, is when I was an enlisted Marine sergeant infantryman. So unless things change, Im not quitting, Im not getting fired, and I dont think theyll fire anyone tomorrow.
RUSH: Then he says its hard to run the government, quickly says that hes not running it, and let me see if this bite this bite doesnt have it, but one of the things Kelly said, the biggest problem that the president has is with you in this room. And he went on to elaborate what he means. But before that, he said this.
KELLY: No, Im not frustrated. This is really, really hard work, running the United States of America. I dont run it, but Im working for someone who is dedicated to serving the country in the way that hes talked about for a number of years. There are incredible challenges, you know, economic challenges, health care challenges, all of that, obviously international challenges, that have to be dealt with.
RUSH: And he went on to say that and there was no question asked, he just continued to speak. And he said (paraphrasing), Frankly, the biggest problem president has is you. He looked out at the press corps, Its in this room. He said from the standpoint of you all need better sources because what youre writing isnt true. You need to change the sourcing youre using, the leaks or whatever. Now, these are my words. Im paraphrasing what I heard and I had to listen fast during the last break when he was making these comments.
But it was an unscheduled appearance in pressroom during the press briefing, and Im sure it was inspired by all of this nonsense about the 25th Amendment and Trump isolated in the White House, going crazy, on the verge of being unfit, mentally unfit, all this stuff is gaining traction out there. Unfortunately, by the way, if I might add, the Never Trumpers are so eager to get rid of this guy that they took my comments yesterday as canary in the coal mine comments, and they wanted to make it look like I was splitting from Trump, which would be a big split, the Trump base leaving him. Thats something they have been desperately hoping to see, and they thought thats what I had said when of course I didnt.
Bump
The 25th amendment meme just shows how far round the bend — how far off the rails — the average American liberal is.
Sounds as though Kelly got a wake up call.
Press Corps is working for THE RUSSIANS ,da da
I hear you, General. Best job I ever had was as a Chaparral/Vulcan platoon leader, closely followed by Battalion S-4 and Battery Commander.
Thanks.
Kelly reminds the press about the Secure Fence Act of 2006 at 13:55 in the video;
as did the Boston Globe in January 2017...
As a senator, Barack Obama once offered measured praise for the border control legislation that would become the basis for one of Donald Trumps first acts as president.
The bill before us will certainly do some good, Obama said on the Senate floor in October 2006. He praised the legislation, saying it would provide better fences and better security along our borders and would help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country.
Obama was talking about the Secure Fence Act of 2006, legislation authorizing a barrier along the southern border passed into law with the support of 26 Democratic senators including party leaders like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Chuck Schumer.
Now its become the legal mechanism for Trump to order construction of a wall between the United States and Mexico, attempting to make good on a key promise from the campaign trail. Trump specifically cited the law in the first sentence of Wednesdays executive order authorizing the wall.
In short Gen. Kelly diplomatically called the MSM #FakeNews. lol
So, will somebody tell Mika?
