“Allahu akbar” is the Islamic war cry. It is in the comparative sense, and means “The god of Islam (i.e. Muhammad ‘s distorted conception of his god) is greator than (all other Gods, specifically the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible. It is the demonic shriek which accompanies every violent, murderous act in the name of Islam.

It is unconscionable that the MSM pretends that it is a harmless platitude “God is great.” Full disclosure: In another life I lived in the ME and studied Arabic (most of which I have forgotten).

That being said, properly understood, “Allah” is the Arabic word for God, appears as such in the Arabic Bible and is used by Arab Christians. They, however, would never chant “Allahu Akbar,” as that is a Muslim slogan based upon Muhammad’s perversion of the concept of God.
