Our son has lived in Orange County since 05. Currently he answered 2 roommates rent a house in Santa Ana for 1500 a month. Not fancy but big and more than adequate. Here in Austin Tx there are homes in the multimillions, all the way down to affordable, just like in California.
We lived in So Calf 1988 to 1990, 1997, 2001, 1007 to 2007, 2012 to 2013. There are expenssive places in Dallas, Houston, Austin, etc. Just like in Calif. My sister bought a brand new house, 2500
sf, 4 bed, 4 bath, 3 car, in Victorville Ca. $150K. Lost money when she sold it too.
Nephew bought brand new home, big, gorgeous, in Sanra Clarita Ca, paid same price per sf as we paid NW Austin
