Psychologists are too busy protecting the mentally ill, declaring them “normal”.

Thus, their war on “normal”.

Christmas music can be an inspiration!

I knit. I knit Christmas gifts for family and friends. Sometimes, it may take weeks and weeks to finish an intricate shawl or boot cuffs, or a brioche scarf, so I need to start early.

To get in the mood while I knit, I enjoy listening to music. I especially enjoy Glen Miller’s “In the Christmas Mood”. Diana Krall’s Christmas Songs. Bette Midler’s Cool Yule. And, always Billie Holiday’s Christmas Jazz.

Although, I do hate Walmart’s pushing the season, I will always enjoy Christmas music.

Well, the Adhan, the Islamic call to prayer, is harmful to both your mental and physical health, so let’s focus on that one before we shut the Celebration of Christmas out.

Why should one want to hear something like this : Cantique Noel when one can listen to banging and thumping and gangster rap.

I agree. I completely tune out until about 3 weeks before Christmas, and even then, I only want carols, and a couple of Sinatra or Como standard pieces. “White Christmas” is up there with the carols. And as far as stores go, I am spared for the most part because of on-line shopping.

Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time

By Paul McCartney makes me wish Mark David Chapman had hated Paul McCartney every time I hear it.

You got a point, there. Despite his flaws, I always thought Lennon was the most interesting and talented of the four. Certainly the best guitarist.

“I love Christmas music any time of the year”

In this set of posts you and I are in the minority. But I’m different. I also like the music of the 60s and 70s and pretty much dislike anything since then. My town has an oldies station. They know what to play and what to not play to their audience.

I can see someone getting tired of hearing any song over and over and over. That’s different from just plain not liking a song.

Christmas music has beautiful melodies, harmonies and words. The performers of it are inspired and at their best.

The word “beautiful” can scarcely be applied to today’s music. I think it tries to be ugly rather than beautiful.

Totally agree. I am a big Christmas music fan. And can pretty much say almost every music I listen to was created before the 80s.

I’m all about some Christmas...love most of the music, but within a week or two of the holiday. This cranking up in early November takes away from it, big time.

The only song that drives me nuts is that “Last Christmas” tune by George Michael. It is a song about his broken heart after a fag hookup the previous year.
