More than 400 millionaires tell Congress: Don’t cut our taxes

More than 400 American millionaires and billionaires are sending a letter to Congress this week urging Republican lawmakers not to cut their taxes.

The wealthy Americans — including doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs and chief executives — say the GOP is making a mistake by reducing taxes on the richest families at a time when the nation's debt is high and inequality is back at the worst level since the 1920s.

The letter calls on Congress not to pass any tax bill that “further exacerbates inequality” and adds to the debt. Instead of petitioning tax cuts for the wealthy, the letter tells Congress to raises taxes on rich people like them. It is being released publicly this week, as Republicans debate legislation that would add $1.5 trillion to the debt to pay for widespread tax cuts for businesses and individuals.

***WARNING***

WaPo = A Whale of Poo

Don’t believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.

What good does it do to post this b/s from a known Lying Leftist outlet other than demoralize the readers? If this story is true and has some redeeming value, at least get the story from a relatively reliable source, not from a known Lying Leftist operative posing as a “news” organization.

Gifts to the U.S. Government

The Fiscal Service accepts gifts, bequests, proceeds and unconditional donations to the United States, both for general government purposes and for the specific purpose of paying down or reducing the public debt.

They just want others to pay more.

Very simple reason for this is THEY can pay the taxes but their competitors cannot. Raising taxes means short term losses but long term gains when their smaller competitors are forced out of business and they pick their corporate bones for .10 cents on the dollar when they go belly up.

How many of those millionaires have taken advantage of the voluntary donation to the US treasury box on the 1040 form?

If they haven’t done it then this is bullcrap

They’ve got THEIRS. That’s all they care about.

And how is the 1% having their taxes cut in these proposed bills?

It appears the successful will be paying MORE under Trump than they did under Obama.

Additionally, they pay tax experts to make sure they pay as little as possible. Hell, they don’t HAVE to take ANY deductions.

They are more than welcome to pay as much taxes as they want. They can even make a special gift to the U.S. Treasury if they so desire. Nothing whatsoever is stopping them.

It would mean more if it were 400 high income earners.

This is just a bunch of rich guys saying: “Don’t let these commoners become rich like me!”

They have the option of dedicating the tax savings to job creation, development of new products or technology, or good old fashioned charity work. In other words, the have a CHOICE!

In March of 2016, when the US Stock Market was at 17,792 (DJIA), CNN published this;

Despite volatile financial markets and slow economic growth, the U.S. added 300,000 new millionaires in 2015, bringing the total to a record 10.4 million, according to a new report.

Given that the DJIA is now well over 23k, I think that we can assume that that count has increased. Even if it had not, the percentage of 400 of 10,400,000 is 0.0038462%. I'd feel rather confident that almost all are on the LEFT of the political spectrum.

I don't think it does any good to skin the wealthy...

I do know that Marx and Lenin thought that highly progressive taxes were the way to introduce communism into a capitalist society with the least resistance.

Of course it must always be coupled with a lot of the old, income-inequality, 'fair share', and other such class envy rhetoric.

The WORST tendency I see in taxation in the past 100 years is taxing income.

The second is progressively higher taxes for higher earners.

The SCARIEST tendency is having one-half the people claim the right to vote and enjoy all sorts of federal, state, and local largess and benefits without paying ONE CENT in federal income taxes.

Deadly combination is to have half or more of the people vote, have offspring for multiple generations, receive all kinds of free benefits like education, food, shelter, and the same for their illegitimate offspring....

And everybody thinks it is OK.

It's a complete disaster to allow worthless freeloaders to vote and thus shape and eventually control public policy.

No representation without NET taxation!
