Rep. Joe Barton, who apologized Wednesday for a lewd photo of him that circulated on the Internet, told a woman to whom he had sent sexually explicit photos, videos and messages that he would report her to the Capitol Police if she exposed his behavior, according to a recording reviewed by The Washington Post.
The woman spoke to The Post after the lewd photo was published Tuesday by an anonymous Twitter account. She shared a secretly recorded phone conversation she had with Barton in 2015 in which he warned her against using the explicit materials in a way that would negatively affect my career.
Besides the recording of the phone call, the woman shared text and social-media messages she exchanged with Barton, as well as a 53-second cellphone video Barton recorded of himself while masturbating. The conspiracy theory website InfoWars obtained a copy of the video and published it Wednesday night, though the video appeared to have been removed from the site several hours later.
The lewd Twitter photo that Barton acknowledged on Wednesday appears to have been captured from that video. The woman said she did not post the image herself. She shared phone numbers for Barton that match his personal and government-issued cellphones. Barton was not abusive or coercive in his interactions, the woman said, but said she felt he was manipulative and dishonest and misleading in his dealings with her and other women.

What has been seen, can not be unseen, unfortunately.
He probably doesn’t want to spend the next 13 months being called “Balls” Barton by his colleagues and staffers.
Well, tough. I’m sick of special elections. Unless you’re friggin dying or appointed to the cabinet (or commit a felony) you can damn well finish your term.
Come to think of it, I believe the costs for the special elections now (depending on the state) is well over $1 million. In the states where the nominees aren’t chosen by the party, you may have to have up to 5 elections. Primary for the Dems, primary for the GOP. Possible runoff primary for Dems, ditto for the GOP and then finally the special general itself.
You may be right that unless said person dies or is promoted to the Cabinet/Senate or Governorship, they be personally billed for the costs of the replacement elections. That also includes billing them if they are removed from office due to crimes.
The only thing not making sense is you who got upset so easily about some women not bothering anymore to raise their children, and instead would rather have bratty, rude children, and their own life.
...My wife said the same. Women were better off staying, and raising kids while the guy was working. The kids then were actually raised, and not ignored off parents who think giving kids what they want to shut them up is good parenting. Today most women are nasty with ugly tats, fat, wearing tight clothes showing their spare fat around their bodies,...<\i>
How insulting to have that view of women. How further insulting women should not be allowed in the work force simply because you think in addition to the fact that we must be so hideous now you cant control sexual impulses to hit on us? Hmmm. Which is it? Cant be both.
Please dont twist my words. I was raised in the 50s and 60s so I know having a mother at home. I understand those values we were raised with. You are a rude man and apparently a product of that which you complain about.
how insulting, good grief snowflake get over it, and yourself.
Haha. Im sad for you. And you know Im far from a snowflake. Sad little man.
U got some catching up to do
