This is the end of Fox News. Disney will destroy it with its Leftist agenda just as they did ESPN.
May this purchase be as profitable as ESPN has been the past year.
Disney is altering the deal. Pray they do not alter it any further!
For big movie fans, the biggest benefit from this is that now the X-men can finally be part of the Marvel Universe proper, and can hopefully be given a few movies of the same production quality as the various MU movies. Further, it means they can finally stop talking their way around some rather large trademarks and connections e.g. Scarlet Witch is supposed to be Magneto’s daughter. In the MU, the fictional metal “adamantium” doesn’t exist.
Plus, maybe now the Fantastic Four can finally get a movie that doesn’t suck giant green donkey balls.
I don’t believe the news division was part of the deal. That’s still in hock to rhe Saudis.
Fox News Channel is not part of the deal.
...is now a Disney Princess?
Oh, goody. That means that Murdoch’s sons can destroy it instead of Disney.

Can’t wait for the X-Men/Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy/Fantastic Four team up to take on Sith Empire.
Fox News and the broadcast network will not be part of Disney but will be part of a new company.
CNNMoney:
“In addition to 21st Century Fox’s movie studio and regional sports networks, Disney is buying cable channels FX and National Geographic. Disney will also get Fox’s stakes in Hulu and European pay-TV provider Sky (SKYAY).
Prior to the deal closing, 21st Century Fox (FOX) will separate the Fox broadcasting network, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, and some national sports networks into a new company that will be spun off to its shareholders.”
MegaGloboMovieCorp.
The movie library is the valuable part.
the new movie business is actually in decline. Consolidation to take advantage of the decline of broadcast TV and cable and the proliferation of streaming TV is what is in process.
A sea change of video providers is in process
You call it "consolidation" I call it "Monopolization".
I don’t like this.
Disney is big enough and does not need to buy out any competitors, other than simply to be bigger.
I don’t think Disney has improved on anything “film” wise during all it’s growth by acquisitions. Bigger yes, and with fewer competitors yes, but better - no, not in my opinion.
And socially, Disney has gotten worse, trading what was truly a more “family values” oriented set of products to nearly all its products slipping down in terms of values.
It seems like a great way to make a heavily armed security force inconspicuous. Make it part of the act.
