epublican Sen. John McCain is returning to Arizona after spending several days in a Maryland hospital recovering from side effects from chemotherapy treatment for brain cancer, CBS News has learned.
McCain left Washington Sunday and is heading back to his home state to spend the holidays with his family. He will not be on hand for the final vote on the GOP tax passage expected for early this week. It is unclear when McCain might return to Washington.
Despite a razor-thin margin needed to pass the measure, McCain's presence will not likely be the determining factor in the vote. Two critical senators -- Bob Corker of Tennessee and Marco Rubio of Florida -- announced their support for the bill last week after initially saying they would oppose earlier versions.

Too bad. McCain deserves all of the contempt we can throw at him and then some. Many people here would line up around the block just for the opportunity to piss on his grave.

I concur. McConnell is a big government stooge who has no interest in constitutionalism, shrinking the federal debt, cutting spending, or repealing Obamacare.

My dad served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a radar man.
He went AWOL to marry my mom and spent his time in the brig. He was an honorable man that lived up to his mistakes.
I am so proud of my dad, may he rest in peace. Harry spent summers and weekends getting his college degree while working full time hammering on cars.

My dad died of a glioblastoma. It was a horrible way for him to go and it was exactly seven years ago today.

For crying out loud, can’t anyone get this, the pubs only need 48 votes or 49 once Jones gets there, mckain not voting is different than voting no , 4 gop senators can vote present of not at all and still pad the bill as long as they don’t vote against.
McCain most likely was listed as a client in the DC Madam’s address book .... somehow she mysteriously ‘hung herself’ while on the way to Congress to give Congressional testimony on her high level DC clientele.....during McCain’s Presidential candidacy

Was born and raised in Tucson and walked the streets of said city in ‘68 canvassing for Nixon.
My sister was a Goldwater Girl at the ‘64 convention and Barry was at least an acquaintance of my father. Jack Williams and Paul Fannin were family friends, as was the ever lovable Sam Steiger.
I could go on and on. My family were Arizona Republicans from the 1930s when most Arizonans were still Democrats (it was the South back then).
Kyl went to the UofA law school a few years after my father graduated from that school, but they did cross paths occasionally. Nice guy, very much alike.
But Jon is like my Father, doesn’t understand the threat from Mexico, doesn’t realize what happened to California.
I left AZ decades ago but still have much family/friends there so it’s of importance to me. In addition to the above ground people, one set of grandparents and both my parents occupy the ground there and will for eternity.
I don’t want to have to get a Mexican visa to visit my parent’s graves.
That’s why we need someone absolutely opposed to illegal immigration, and why the entire world needed Don Trump as President of the United States.
