Sen. John McCain returns to Arizona, will miss vote on GOP tax bill
CBS News ^

epublican Sen. John McCain is returning to Arizona after spending several days in a Maryland hospital recovering from side effects from chemotherapy treatment for brain cancer, CBS News has learned.

McCain left Washington Sunday and is heading back to his home state to spend the holidays with his family. He will not be on hand for the final vote on the GOP tax passage expected for early this week. It is unclear when McCain might return to Washington.

Despite a razor-thin margin needed to pass the measure, McCain's presence will not likely be the determining factor in the vote. Two critical senators -- Bob Corker of Tennessee and Marco Rubio of Florida -- announced their support for the bill last week after initially saying they would oppose earlier versions.

McConnel is a survivor first and foremost. How better to survive than at the top?

I wouldn’t venture a guess when NcConnell might leave.

What I can tell you is that he is dispised by the public.

He is a man that should have retired years ago.

He may still wind up having not passed one single important bill this year, having to do with the agenda we voted for.

He will most likely wind up being the most ineffectivd speaker in the history of our nation.

Meghan getting married almost immediately after becoming engaged so her dad could be there, Trump calling Cindy ..... I’m guessing that reading between the lines is likely more insightful than reading actual media stories of what is supposed to be ‘news’. I don’t think he’ll be leaving AZ to return to DC.

I agree. Said the same thing about the CEO of CSX the other day when he hit the hospital. Az will have two new senators soon and in their case, not soon enough.

In one way or another “they” were all songbirds in Vietnam.

That is the lesson learned or at least perpetuated from the long years of their imprisonment. Everyone has their breaking point. I am quite sure there are a great many aviators, who flew over the north, still very grateful they were able to fly back to their airfields, carrier, or bailout over safer territory rather than being subjected to the experience that John McCain had.

It is up to each of us to find forgiveness in our hearts for his seeming traitorous voting record. No different than many a democrat and Republican still living and still voting. The United States of America will survive John McCain, as it survived Ted Kennedy, both it seems will pass with the same malady that none of us should wish upon our worst enemy.

I am no McCain fan, but the way I see it, if the Swift Boat Vets were able to help ensure that John Kerry would not win the presidency, wouldn’t there have been just as strong a voice/group to rise up to derail and prevent John McCain from reaching the presidency? If there were all true about McCain, why not go after him too? Yet, during that 2008 election, nothing of the sort was hoisted in the national stage. You know the Dems would have brought it up time and again, to ensure McCain didn’t stand a chance against the Kenyan.

Remember that McStain has 4th Stage Brain Cancer!

He will not live long after the diagnosis.

Prognosis is not good for a recovery from 4th stage Brain cancer even though he probably has the best Medical Doctors available.

Lies about his service, man you have no idea what you are talking about.

John McCain is nothing but the spoiled son and grandson of 2 Navy Four Star Admirals. He used this power and favor to garner special treatment ever since Vietnam. He had superior conditions to all that were fellow POWs. This has been proven over and over again.

Now he is a complete sell out.

He has had a silver spoon in his mouth his entire life.

His life is a highly orchestrated lie, and in the end his true colors are shining brightly for all to see. A quick internet search will reveal what he has been up to “these days”.

TRAITOR

If you don’t see this then you are part of the problem also.

I haven’t mentioned his middle east AL’QUEDA and ISIS connections.

“Realizing he had said too much by revealing the Rothschild dinner, McCain quickly changed the subject.

What was my impression as a constituent?

Though stunned at the palpable weakness of his character, it was oddly comforting to hear him concede his role as an Evil Doer.”
