Elinor Otto, a retired Rosie the Riveter, speaks at AFA's Air, Space & Cyber Conference after receiving AFA's Lifetime Achievement award. Otto flew in a C-17, which she helped build, for the first time on Monday. Screenshot photo.

My mom was a “Rosie” at a GE Aviation plant in Cincinnati during WWII. Something she took great pride in. Now my daughter is with them as a graduate aeronautical engineer and the pride continues to a third generation.

My Mother, and her sister, worked at Bell Aircraft (predecessor to Lockheed) in Atlanta back then...as riveters.

If you listen to the video, near the end she relates a story that portrays the Mechanics Creed-—”If it doesn’t fit, get a bigger hammer”.
Sounded scary to me.

My Mom was a Rosie the Riveter for Lockheed in Long Beach, CA.
I still have the Lockheed yearbook showing hundreds of Rosies gathered around a bomber they had just built.
Thank God for the Greatest Generation!
