It will be tough to make Steele sing, much less get him to testify since he’s in the UK and is a full-throated member of their establishment - Cambridge, MI-6, friends with some pompous Ambassador. Unless he voluntarily travels to the US, his friends will need to extradite him and that ain’t going to happen.
Hope Steele doesn’t end up dead in his luggage or hanging from a bridge.
That was my thought as well.
My second thought was much more cynical: Make a lot of noise about bringing charges against someone who is essentially untouchable so it looks like you’re serious and actually doing something. That way you can avoid indicting the real culprits (Hitlery, 0vomit, Comey, and so many others).
He doesn’t need to sing much. He’ll say “I didn’t write it, I only signed my name to it.”
All that Grassley wants him to do is contradict, under oath, the account that various FBI personnel gave.
This is about prosecuting corrupt FBI people, not going after Steele.
I agree. There is no way he is going to attend.
