The left indeed has become a family. Unfortunately, it often resembles the Gotti crime family (hat tip: Larry Schweikart).
Let's face it: Republicans have their share of corruption, but what the left has become is not tinged with the normal shortcomings of humanity. It's become criminal.
Literally. Fully. And seriously.
Let's look at a few shades of leftist criminality. I don't mean the common finger-pointing, where leftists claim that anything done by the center-right is "criminal." Like being for tax cuts. Being pro-life. Or against illegal immigration. Voting for Trump was criminal. The left thinks anyone to its right is criminal.
But most sane people know that's not true. It's hyperbole for the sake of cowing those who hold differing opinions. It's a political smear writ large – and, might I say, projection. Leftist often accuse others of doing what they do. Not only does it help them feel better about themselves, but it's a strategy to gain and hold power over others.
In itself, that mindset isn't essentially criminal. Maybe you could say it's a shade of gray or misdemeanor. But therein lies the first step on the road to where they ended up. They begin by stepping across a line, and they wake up fully criminal. Let's follow the path downward.
The early Clinton escapades weren't the outcome of being Boy Scouts. Using political influence to do a land deal in Arkansas, or to gain $100,000 in the commodity market for being the governor's wife, was a pretty good sign of who they are – as were Bill's early sexual predations and Hillary's early persecution of the women he used.

The political left will ALWAYS put ideology over ethics and morality. You shouldn’t see them as the mob because there are things the mob won’t do.
The defining difference between the political left and right is that the left believes the end justifies the means.
It does not matter how many actual people die to achieve the lofty goal of helping “the people” in the abstract.

The writer sounds very optimistic, but I will believe it when I see it.
We are at a point where many, if not a majority, of Democrats just don’t care about the criminality of their actions. They have convinced themselves it’s an “In case of emergency, break laws/constitution” moment. The most far-gone of them want a one-party system and are willing to resort to violent protests/action.
They were THIS CLOSE to their utopia and are not about to let pesky laws, the pesky constitution or outsiders get in the way.
The $100k in commodities was a bribe. Probably pay to play. That’s why it was never repeated.
When you think about it, it's very much like "global warming" and "climate change."
The Left often seems to use this strategy, particularly on the big things.
Create this abstract entity that's somehow "bigger than" — somehow "above" — the reality you are unable to explain away with slogans and propaganda.
The "weather" is something you can see outside your window, something you can test and encounter by simply walking outside. That's no good, because the "weather" sometimes is hot, and sometimes cold, and most of the time just the same old thing.
Therefore, let's create this abstract thing called "the climate," which behaves in ways that only we (on the Left) can define, measure, and evaluate. When the weather gets "hot," we can say "this proves that we're in the grip of global warming, and this warming effect is caused by capitalism." When the weather gets "cold," we can say "do not be deceived, just because it's cold, that doesn't mean global warming is not happening, in fact, it's cold because of global warming."
Similarly, the create this abstract entity called "the people," or "working people." You are not one of the "working people," even though you have a job, have expenses, and pay taxes. No, "working people" are somewhere else, and they have a claim on the wealth you produce and create because you stole it from them.
Yeah, the really sharp guys that used to run the mob are all in jail or dead. You’ve got second and third stringers running things now, and while they still have some power with unions and rackets in a few areas, they have been in decline for decades.
But America will rejoice. Criminals are going to be brought to their knees.
I like the author's optimism, enthusiasm and confidence. I agree with everything he said, except these last two sentences. Unfortunately, I do not have the confidence in America's general voting population or in the cadre of politicians and judges that he apparently does.
Those are religious concepts and strategies just being twisted and applied to the left’s humanistic agenda.
The left wants to destroy religion, but it still recognizes the power that religion has to motivate people, and it wants to wield that itself. So it adopts some of the techniques and uses them for its own purposes.

Remove the idea that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" from the public square, with all that such understanding implies for an individual or for a sovereign nation, and one can begin to understand the America which existed at the time of the 2016 election.
Pertaining to Boogieman's assertion that the "Left" wants to utilize the "power" that religion possesses to "motivate": in reality, the cult-like Progressive ideology, to its Progressive "believers," is an oppressive religion, minus the "Supreme Being" acknowledged in America's founding documents.
