As I understand it, the Gestapo arrested citizens.
These citizens has broken no laws.
These citizens were arrested for being Jewish, gypsie, elderly, crippled, or homosexual.
Some if not all of them were transported to concentration camps where they were forced into slave labor, and or killed.
It is known that they were used for experimentation.
Illegal aliens are arrested for being in our nation without having gone through the legal process.
They are treated humanely.
They are deported to their nation of origin.
ICE is not like the Gestapo.
You are right. President Trump is exactly what we needed. I'm a Southern boy, and I once thought that if anyone from New York was elected, it would be the end of the Republic. Boy was I wrong!.
No doubt New York is full of crummy politicians — the Spitzers, Cuomos, and de Blasios, etc. But in the South we have the "genteel and privileged" oligarchy of Sessions, Cochran, Graham, Shelby, et al.
They feel more loyalty to fellow oligarchs, and the country club than they feel to their own neighbors in their own town. They could not give less of a damn if the last plant in town has closed and been shipped off to China.
Oh, they all talk a good game, but where the rubber meets the road, they hide in the cloak room and vote the way their lobbyists enablers tell them. The noble idea of entering politics to serve the Republic is beyond them. These gentlemen entered politics to line their pockets and secure their fortune.
The intent and deployment of “Gestapo” is really much different from the objectives of ICE. The Secret State Police (Geheime-Staatspolizei) was an organization to insure the conformity of thought and activities of the German people, not with control of the national boundaries and the influx of foreign visitors to the country.
No citizen’s actions are the target of ICE, except in the instance where a citizen may be assisting a non-citizen, whether legally documented or not, who may be involved in criminal activity. This would, by definition, include those who are administering the ordinances which create “sanctuary cities” (or counties, or states).
Crimes being defined, of course, as activities which are in contravention of a duly constituted legal system. Ordinances which contradict this legal system ought be declared “unConstitutional” in the purest sense of the word.
This is not always the case, as a lot of contradictory laws have been passed which have not yet been challenged in the Judiciary Branch.
Or challenged, but the rulings go ignored, or openly defied.
Yeah, I’ll be voting in 2020. My brother doesn’t have time so I’ll vote for him as well. What? It’s California. It’s illegal for them to check IDs. So I go vote in the morning, wait until lunch and my brother votes in the afternoon.

The difference is that the Gestapo was going after German citizens and ICE is not going after American citizens, just people who entered the country illegally.
