Germany fears EU migration reforms will trigger refugee influx: report

Berlin fears the European Parliament’s planned amendment to the so-called Dublin Regulation could see many more refugees settling in Germany, news magazine Der Spiegel reported Saturday.

The Dublin Regulation requires people seeking asylum to register in the first EU state they enter, and for that state to assume responsibility for processing their claim. But if the proposed reform is passed, responsibility could shift from the arrival state to the EU country where any of the applicant’s relatives live.

Under such a change, “Germany would have to accommodate significantly more asylum seekers,” said an Interior Ministry memo, quoted by Der Spiegel. Any caps on refugees would be “nullified,” the memo added. […]

The German Interior Ministry noted that it was particularly worried by a section of the proposal that stated “the mere assertion of a family connection was enough.”

“As a result, a member state hosting many so-called ‘anchor persons’ will take over responsibility for far-reaching family associations,” it said.

“If every one of the more than 1.4 million people who have applied for asylum in Germany since 2015 becomes an anchor for newcomers arriving in the EU, then we’re dealing with (numbers) on an entirely different scale compared to family reunifications,” said Ole Schröder, a parliamentary state secretary in Germany’s Interior Ministry. …

How many will Poland and Hungary have to accept through this chain migration? It looks like their policies saved them from the invaders setting up a beachhead.

Yes, they must be racists. -:) The inmates are running the asylum in Europe. They are DELIBERATELY destroying themselves. I feel sorry for the Germans who were against this invasion from the start. But then again, is that more than one out of a hundred?

Insanity. If I were king it would be an immigration moratorium for 30 years...and just kick people out for awhile.

The Dublin accord has been ignored for years by most EU states, who have been only too happy to see migrants passing through to somewhere else in the EU. That’s how the ‘jungle camps’ came to appear in Calais and the other English Channel ports - refugees who had arrived in Southern Europe, but instead of being processed in the country they arrived in (as required by the Dublin accord) had been encouraged to travel on till they reached the UK border. There they became stuck, as the UK has never been party to the Schengen open-borders agreement, which only covers some EU countries.

Fears? It's precisely what most of their politicians wanted, especially Führer Fräulein Merkel. Oh, they're now having second thoughts? Way too late for that, suicidal Krauts.

I agree. But do the people have the will, the strength to step up and insist their government does the right thing for citizens? I'm doubtful. Those who speak up are labeled and dismissed as "racists" or "islamaphobic" which quickly seems to silence them. The liberal steamroller will continue until there is little hope but to work until you drop to pay the benefits for these invaders, much as Sweden is finding out.

These liberal anti-nationalist traitors won't be satisfied until they destroy their own country.

One has to wonder why they institute Hell in the countries that their own children will grow up in.

Get used to it Germany. You opened your borders to them and now you get to pay and pay and pay, in so many ways.

For every two immigrants we accept in America seven more come in the form of chain migration. 70% of the 13 million immigrants coming to America in the past decade are the result of chain migration, and that is why it must stop. They have little or no job skills or education but they have an anchor immigrant so the family reunification allows them to enter America. That is what Germany will suffer through in the years ahead.

Given Merkel’s recent penchant for allowing migration into Germany, many in Germany should not be surprised at what the EU is trying to do.../s

It’s reaching the point in Europe already that you’re not even allowed to speak if you oppose the unlimited migration of muslims into your country. The UK is actually incarcerating those who post anti-immigration “hate-speech” online and Germany has just passed a law requiring social media sites to remove any speech that is deemed offensive under threat of huge fines.

Germany appears poised to agree to another “Grand Coalition” with the social democrats which will allow for the continued influx of new migrants on a large scale every year.

The whole situation over there seems utterly hopeless. Only Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic appear willing to fight for the future. That’s not enough to withstand the power of the EU which is determined to bring about the end of traditional western civilization in favor of global leftism.

Germany sliced both her wrists wide open, and now she’s worried about blood stains on the carpet?

Chill out Germany.

Just find a comfy place to lay down and wait...for the inevitable to occur.
