President Obama’s program that shields the so-called DREAMers from deportation is “probably dead” President Trump declared yesterday after a drama-filled week of high-stakes negotiations on immigration reform.
Congressional Democrats have been trying to blackmail the president, offering to swap border security funding for protecting approximately 700,000 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) claimants. Although Democrats are continuing to threaten to force a government shutdown in days unless an agreement protecting those benefitting from the constitutionally dubious DACA program is reached, “Democrats don’t really want” to resolve the issue, Trump tweeted Sunday morning.
Minutes later he added, "I, as President, want people coming into our Country who are going to help us become strong and great again, people coming in through a system based on MERIT. No more Lotteries! #AMERICA FIRST."
DREAMers, by the way, are the stuff of leftist myth. The misleading sobriquet comes from the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act, a legislative proposal to grant underage illegals immigration amnesty. The conceit was invented to promote the illegal immigration Democrats need to win elections. They’re not the rock stars or rocket scientists people like DNC chief Tom Perez claim. Despite being sacred cows for progressives, DREAMers tend to be less educated and less established than typical Americans. Many can barely speak English and have little in the way of future prospects.

let’s hope this prevents a budget deal. Then Trump will have a free habe to drain the swamp, because the Feds will need to run on a cash flow positive basis.
Most Americans will not appreciate the govt shutting down over a bunch of dreamers. Trump will make hay with this one. Look for another CR.
When have the Democrat-Communists ever wanted a resolution to issues? Their agenda can only move forward as long as an issue remains unresolved - pitting groups against each other.
The focus should be on mid-terms and maintaining & increasing control of Congress.
So if this really does fail and DACA withers away, do you think we will start seriously deporting these people? If not, the Dems win because he illegal aliens will stay here having anchor babies, which will eventually achieve their goal of demographic and political transformation through chain migration. It won’t be quick, but this intransigent approach is a win for the democrats if you look at this as a long term game - unless we start massively rounding up and deporting the illegals before they start having anchor babies. With the mid terms coming up and the likely shitstorm media backlash, do you really think this will happen?
They work hard at not working.
One salient point is that, after hundreds of millions of tax dollars have been spent trying to educate these illegal aliens, only 4% graduate from college. Some of them are 38 years old now, so what have they been doing all this time?
Contrast that with the number of them in our prison systems. We obviously have received a very poor return on our investment in this group of squatters.
Compare them with LEGAL immagrants.
In one of worst examples of Judicial activism the Rats seeing Trump lost his leverage refused to negotiate because unless and until that punk is overturned the “dreamers” cannot be forced to leave. So far l have seen no efforts to do anything about this. In fact over the weekend l saw the Administratin is complying and is accepting DACA renewal applications so there you go.
What about the “Dreamers” that are in prison, or part of MS 13? Are they part of the demographic that we are supposed to weep for? (Note that some of these “kids” are actually adults.)

While at the same time Trump supports deporting the bums, criminals and welfare sponges
Seems the Democrats can’t take yes for an answer

Dick Durbin should simply never be invited to the White House again. Forget the invitation, the President has the authority to exclude a lot of folks, and he should start with Durbin, and then get to a lot of the present White House Press Corps - start revoking their passes.

The Dems and Kim Jung Un are accustomed to weak kneed Republicans who talk tough then fold. They don’t know how to handle Trump. Their frustration comes out as virulent hate.
