The kids are grown and gone. I live in the Northeast. I am looking to move to a small city or town or village. I am healthy, happy and adaptable.

I would prefer a place that has a conservative base. Every location on the lists of best places to move are leftist s***holes.

I am hoping for a place with four seasons, albeit, not as severe as the northeast. Elevations are fine, beauty is important, and so is the need of good, friendly people.

Any ideas?

I have been buying my rental houses in Wakulla county Florida. It is rural, but close to major medical facilities about thirty minutes (depending on location) away in Tallahassee. (Tallahassee, Leon, hasn’t elected a Republican since reconstruction, but Wakulla is very conservative, small and full of nice people.)

How ‘bout The Villages in north-central Florida? I believe it’s quite conservative and has lots to offer. It does cool off in the winter and I believe there are changing seasons...as much as you’ll find in FL. I am not all that familiar with the place but plan to look into it in a few years.

Kentucky gets a bad rap but I love it. People here got wise to the Democrat’s lies and the Rats will probably not get any power back (just stay away form Louisville). You would be amazed what property values are here and taxes aren’t bad. Fortunately the state isn’t viewed as a new age hot spot like North Carolina either.

There are a lot of friendly small towns just east of the Rockies, an area called The Front Range, in CO.

Just look at a map and follow I-25 to find them.

Same is true on The Western Slope, which is the far west of CO.

A year & a half ago we moved to Emmett, Idaho - about 25 miles North of Boise. It’s in Gem County, the smallest county in ID. Population is 6k for the city & 14k for the entire county. It’s dry, pretty cold in the winter & pretty hot in the summer. Not too much of a problem if you’re retired like we are. Scenery is lovely - we are surrounded by low hills, with Squaw Butte an impressive feature. (A friend of a friend has joked that there are only 3 roads into the valley & all could easily be held in the event of a zombie apocalypse.) Housing prices are very reasonable. Taxes are low. People are friendly & conservative. We are quite happy here.
