The FBI is investigating whether a top Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump win the presidency, two sources familiar with the matter have told McClatchy.
FBI counterintelligence investigators have focused on the activities of Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank who is known for his close relationships with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA, the sources said.
It is illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.
It’s unclear how long the Torshin inquiry has been ongoing, but the news comes as Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s sweeping investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, including whether the Kremlin colluded with Trump’s campaign, has been heating up.
All of the sources spoke on condition of anonymity because Mueller’s investigation is confidential and mostly involves classified information.

How about all the money Obammie the Commie took from foreign nationals when he took credit-card donations through the Internet and did not put a Country filter on the source?
Everyone knew that people all over the world were giving money to campaign of Jug Ears.
Seems pretty serious. Turned the NRA types that would have voted for Clinton. Both of them.
Maybe we can investigate to see if money was funneled to Planned Parenthood to help Hillary get elected. This is total BS.
Being a long card carrying member of the NRA, I really doubt that they would be taking money from Russia for any election...
We in the NRA fully supported President Trump as Our Candidate and support him now as Our President...
Now if there are any monies coming from Russia to anyone I would wholly suggest that it went to the Clinton Foundation and the DNC for the Hillary Campaign...

* If the FBI was conducting such an investigation, why leak it?
* If this was really a crime (accepting foreign $$ to elect public officials) you would have to close down half the lobbyist offices on K street and 75% of the NGO’s.
* It is NOT illegal for the NRA or anyone else to take $$ from foreign sources (else you couldn’t accept online donations). For non profits, all contributions are disclosed anyway. What’s to investigate.
OF COURSE THIS WAS LEAKED (OR MADE UP) JUST TO COUNTER THE OTHER STORY!

I still hope for the day when we can self-police ourselves about peddling any of false propaganda being “leaked” by the enemy. I know for a fact this is done at times solely because people on “our side” will take it as gospel and start passing it around.
