A state district judge in Comal County said God told him to intervene in jury deliberations to sway jurors to return a not guilty verdict in the trial of a Buda woman accused of trafficking a teen girl for sex.
Judge Jack Robison apologized to jurors for the interruption, but defended his actions by telling them when God tells me I gotta do something, I gotta do it, according to the Herald-Zeitung in New Braunfels.
The jury went against the judges wishes, finding Gloria Romero-Perez guilty of continuous trafficking of a person and later sentenced her to 25 years in prison. They found her not guilty of a separate charge of sale or purchase of a child.

He definitely needs to be released from his job for some mental health leave because maybe he’s had a mental breakdown.
Insanity is no respecter of position. It’s just a shame that justice lost when this justice lost his head. May he never again get behind a bench.
It’s a lazy G_d who decides to tell the judge instead of the jurors.
Doesn’t this violate the concept of the Separation of the POWERS of Church and the POWERS of State ?
Still, if God speaks to you in no uncertain term, dont you have an obligation to follow His instructions?
Crazy, maybe. But look at it from a faithful believer perspective.
The woman was still convicted, the jury ignored him on that and he did recuse himself later so all was not lost.
I do think that in following the instructions he believed he was given, he did give people a heads-up that he should probably be doing something else. One door closed, another door opened. God works in mysterious ways :)
“but defended his actions by telling them when God tells me I gotta do something, I gotta do it, “
Maybe his GOD is MONEY. Or maybe the defendant met him privately for a conference.
Talking to God is one thing.
When he starts talking back, uh-0h.
Can’t imagine the Left having a problem here...since God wants for freeing the animal
Thread over. You nailed it.
Talk about where moth and dust corrupt!
He still needs to get out of that business. Unless it’s proven he had a medical condition that day that was caused by something preventable in the future, he should be considered insane and not eligible to judge the sanity and actions of others.
But really good to know that ordinary citizens can recognize insanity and act accordingly. I would have doubted that today.
Not in a court of law. He can privately be as religious as he wants. But in his profession, it’s insanity.
Carreer Limiting Move.
It’s pretty amazing the sorts of narratives people are just parroting around without bothering to stop and think.
On that note, Goodnight all!
Sounds like he’s another one of those judges that covers for child traffickers and pedophiles.
Sounds like the judge has been compromised by the sex trafficking industry.
What makes me question the judge is the fact that child trafficking is so prevalent, as are complicit judges.
