Is SNL relevant anymore?
The point many on the Left are missing is this: what really matters in a leader are his policies, his decisions. All the rest — looks, speech, family, pets — is fluff. Trump has been making excellent decisions. Thus I support him. The Left is concentrating upon fluff. Thus they are silly.
I’m old enough to remember when SNL was actually funny.
I watched the open then fell asleep, it was distinctly unfunny, but they don’t seem to care as long as they get in their digs at Trump. TDS.
Great show if you have the IQ of a six year old. (the avg. for libs)
Like I’ve often said, 1970s episodes of “The Electric Company” are more entertaining to watch than SNL these days.
I remember Saturday Night Live.
Speaking of things that dont matter any more...
SNL - It doesn’t matter any more.
Cue the “I don’t watch Tv”, “SNL has been dead since ‘75” and all of the other indications that the greatest generation is alive and well on FR.
SNL suffers from the same malady as most other forms of entertainment: They have ceased trying to entertain. Now all they do is shock, titillate, and preach.
I like Jessica Chastain, but the show was one of the worst in the oats 5 years and that’s saying something.
The opening and the news are time slotted as ‘ridicule” trump content. The opening has been so redundant and consistently anti-trump it is unwatchable to me and I don’t mind my side being the subject of jokes.
The standard joke structure when you want to ridicule a politician is set up a false premise and then deliver a set-up and punch line based upon the premise.
Last night the other skits were mostly unwatchable. I tape and fast forward.
The musical guest last night must have been androgynous and unlistenable.
Overall totally unwatchable.
Not funny but very (inadvertently) insightful. On the face of it this skit lambastes President Trump and his supporters. Haha. But to anyone with an IQ above 80 it clearly illustrates the severe mental trauma of collision with reality that is driving the left collectively nutz.
At this rate to 2020 elections will be a shoe-in because there won’t be any leftists left who are not straitjacketed.
How nice of SNL to finally seem to be aware of that fact.
Smearing politicians as hapless idiots works when said politicians allow themselves to be used as doormats.
Trump is nobody’s doormat.
I don't watch televisionOkay
but as part of a video classroom assignmentUh-huh
I ended up watching Saturday Night Live.Yes, we see. It wasn't your fault
I watch it anyway on YouTubeAnd that's somehow not watching television? Okay
For someone who doesn't watch television,I watched the opening segment last night
Oh My God that was HORRIBLE!!
SNL used to be edgy but now that was just the most lame thing I’ve seen Even on YouTube!! Makes some of those Star Trek Fan movies seem like they should get the Cecil B DeMille awards.
Their facts are wrong on all of the issues too.
SNL >>> SND
Saturday Night Dead as a doornail with me.
If they covered even one thing that actually took place, couldn’t prove it by me. The things they talked about were things he hasn’t done.
It was a really tedious skit. You wind up thinking, “None of this has a real foundation for being lampooned.”
In the land of the make believe, it’s putrid.
“Trump has relations with his son? Does it really matter?”
Man these folks have vile minds.
I made a mental note to check out the show and it became a must watch for many, many years. Even during the horrible shows of the early 1980s (when Lorne Michaels was off the show), I stuck with it and was rewarded by what I feel was the true glory days of the mid 80s to mid 90s. So many comic geniuses put in some time on SNL during that era. Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Jon Lovitz, David Spade, Norm MacDonald, Dennis Miller, Victoria Jackson and Mike Myers to name just a few. (And many of those people were conservatives in real life as well).
Even when Trump got into the presidential race, I continued to watch. That early 2016 show when Trump actually hosted was hilarious. But as soon as it became obvious that Trump was going to be the nominee, the show got cruel and mean-spirited about all things Trump. It just wasn't funny anymore.
For over 40 years, that show was a mainstay in my life but it's dead to me now.
