Yup. I had 10 weeks vacation and 26 weeks severance due to being laid off in my final check. I for once got paid what I was worth. 😂. And I retired the same day and got my first SS chk the next week. Then came life. 😥

Congratulations!

I'm trying to run the clock out on my Social Security and start when I'm seventy.

I hope I'm not making a huge mistake by doing that.

I've convinced myself that American tax payers will take pity on an old man who postponed his check for eight years, and they will let me keep the full amount.

On the other hand, when I look at the staggering magnitude of America's unfunded long term liabilities, it's probably just a question of time before the U.S. Treasury starts paying us in BitCoins!

Well I started mine at 64 which was 2 and a half early. The total between what I recd for those years would have taken 12 to make up had I waited. (Something like that. I don’t remember the exact number but for me it made more sense to take it then) And, who’s sure they’re gonna make it to 70? I did and approaching 71 in June. Woo Hoo!

Most salaried senior civil servants have a lot of leave time banked up, by the time they’re nearing retirement age. “Terminal leave” is very common around retirement time.

The important thing is he was “removed from the Bureau”. That means he no longer has any official bureaucratic power & the Bureau is free to replace him. IMHO, this is a big win. If McCabe had had his way, he would have stayed in place, until his official retirement date. That would have enabled him to continue his malfeasance.

As for benefits, etc. — plenty of time to deal with those issues, when all the dust settles. Those benefits can be used as leverage to get McCabe to spill the beans.

Money ain't everything.

He will soon be completely disgraced.

Money can't make up for the shame of betraying your country.

In fact, the money adds insult to injury.

Burn, baby...burn.

Yes. Exactly what you say. Yet Mueller’s investigation continues. America: What a country!

I guess it has to go on until the Feebs come up with the news that Donald Trump was guilty of pre-election diplomacy in the first degree.

Or some such thing.

Why was there never such a fuss when Barack Obama did his grand Europe tour months before he was first elected?

Now maybe George Washington had a point. America shouldn’t get entangled with foreign interests. But that world went away a long, long time ago. Now the only question is about how to manage them.

I don’t see any hints, let alone proof, that a single ruble changed hands to Donald Trump’s election benefit. Shouldn’t somebody have spoken up about it by now if it had? With even the GOP being a herd of cats? And getting props with some Americans as being a good diplomat doesn’t even count.

“the important thing is he was “removed from the Bureau”. That means he no longer has any official bureaucratic power & the Bureau is free to replace him. IMHO, this is a big win.”

McCabe had already said he was going to retire in less than 3 months.

He is just taking a paid vacation.

This is not a big win.

A win would be McCabe is arrested and turns states evidence against his coconspirators.

.
McCabe is legally entitled to the earned accumulated vacation pay.

The retirement pay will go out the window if he is convicted of a crime.

This is a big win!

Definitely would have if it had happened.

If he is convicted of a crime that would be a big win.

This is not a win.
