When I was in school, 0% had guards.
When I attended school as a yute from 1948-1960 there were exactly no armed guards at any public of which I was aware.
my, what 'progress' we've made !
Just? Just? Oh, for the good old days when we could go to school and not have to worry about libtards and mass shootings. Back in the day, if the sheriff stopped by the school and saw a rifle in the headache rack of a student’s unlocked pickup in the parking lot, he’d smile and ask the kid how it shot.
The Hazleton area school district has armed guards.
Just 42%?
Well, that is going to rather unsettling news to the SJW’s...
They think the cost is too high and there shouldn’t be any guns on campus...
When I was a child, 0% of public schools had armed guards.
O% when I was in school from 1945 til 1957, but every teacher in 1st thru 6th grade had a paddle. The principal took care of 7th thru 12th with his belt. Incidentally today 100% of Social Security offices have an armed guard. Now go figure.
When signing up for my social security check in 2001 I asked the SSA employee helping me why there was an armed guard walking around in the room. She told me it was for the employees’ protection, and she claimed that I did not understand how irate people could get when told how much their benefit was going to be. I told her she was very wrong since I had retired from an electric utility and had encountered many customers irate about their electric bills. I also told her that we never had the benefit of and armed guard though. The truth is the guards are Democrats and the RATS need all the votes they can buy.
If you have an armed guard, there won’t be school shootings. If there aren’t school shootings, how will they take our guns away?
That’s ALL the left cares about, and if people have to die to achieve the progressives’ nirvana, that is not their problem.

What changed?
I attended an urban (Pennslvania 3rd class city) high school in the late 1970’s. There was a uniformed city police officer assigned to the school, very visible patrolling the halls all day.
HS ping.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
My daughter’s teacher and “principal” both carry. Of course, she’s homeschooled....
I remember at least one friend who smuggled a handgun into school. Back then his main objective was, “Hey, look at this”. I never once thought he brought it to school to use.
