criminal procedure can be long and drawn out before you get a conviction, and moreover, it’s rare for a representative to get prosecuted like the little people do, specially if they are a democrat in Washington. Getting someone like this off such an important committee is important to legislating and policy making. Is there a process for this? I would assume that the level of burden for removing someone from a committee is less than the burden of criminal prosecution (reasonable doubt), and would help sooner anyway. Leaks are not just obstruction on the legislative process. They actually are damaging.

You can pursue the criminal aspects on a parallel course if you must

Your point is pragmatic. However, there's no substitute for placing government criminals in jail. Pictures of Obama, the Clintons and their ilk in orange jump suits would go a long way in deterring criminal politicians and officials.
