SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) – The number of people packing up and moving out of the Bay Area just hit its highest level in more than a decade.
Carole Dabak spent 40 years living in San Jose and now she’s part of the mass exodus that is showing no signs of slowing down.
The retired engineer’s packing up and calling it quits about to move to the state of Tennessee.
“I loved it here when I first got here. I really loved it here. But it’s just not the same,” Dabak said.
Of course people come and go from the Bay Area all the time, but for the first time in a long time, more people are leaving the Bay Area than are coming in. And the number one place in the country for out-migration is now, right here.

Russell Hancock with Joint Venture Silicon Valley said, “Silicon Valley has been this place that is growing. And it was mostly due to people relocating here and relocating from other parts of the world. That’s changing.”
Joint Venture Silicon Valley’s own study of the out-migration says workers are moving to Sacramento, Austin, and Portland due to a number of factors. But topping the list is the high cost of housing.

“You can’t even contemplate getting into the housing market here,” Hancock said. “And I don’t mean just service workers, but highly skilled professionals. The tech elite are having a hard time affording reasonable housing in Silicon Valley. That makes it difficult for employers to recruit.”
Operators of a San Jose U-Haul business say one of their biggest problems is getting its rental moving vans back because so many are on a one-way ticket out of town.

Dabak cites crowding, crime and politics as the reasons for her own exodus.
“We don’t like it here anymore. You know, we don’t like this sanctuary state status and just the politics,” she said.
She plans to sell her home for about $1 million, buy a much larger place near Nashville for less than half that and retire closer to family and friends.
I hate to hear of a mass exodus from California. They are like locusts looking for something else to consume and destroy.
Exactly.
It’d be just like the number of New Yorkers and Massholes who moved down to Florida and brought their liberal garbage with them.
I don’t think much of Michael Savage but years ago, he referred to them as “Condo Commies”. His description was not far off the mark.
The crime index will spike, and they will leave faster.
And do her best to vote and turn Tennessee into the same type of over-priced, Looney-Liberal PC-Hell sh___hole that San Francisco is.

Fewer and fewer people left to carry the burden of more and more.
Gonna escalate quickly.
If I remember correctly, during the 1849 gold rush a shovel cost $50, or something like that.
When wages go up, prices go up.
Can’t blame them from leaving that @@@@hole.

Needs to build a wall around California as well, I guess.
On the bright side, maybe I can one day move to San Francisco, be able to afford a house, and turn CA red! San Fran is pretty. (I know, I’m dreaming.)
Good riddance. This was Reagan country once, even if alleged ‘conservatives’ here and elsewhere have given up, I haven’t, and won’t. Some slimy bastards who pretend to be Americans would just leave us fellow conservatives behind enemy lines without a thought, no better than Bergdahl they are.

Just don’t bring your liberal politics and beliefs to other states. Of course this is not going to be the case. Look how liberal Californians are affecting our own state on the east side.
So these people eagerly created East Berlin on the West Coast and are now fleeing exactly what they DEMANDED. I say make East Berlin West great again and build a wall around San Francisco to keep residents in.
Think of it this way, for the health of the nation we must quarantine the infectious disease so that it doesn’t spread.
Are there lotsa vacant unsold homes on the market, with multiple price reductions?
So many of the liberals leaving the state (many to Nevada) are ex-state government workers, teachers, and other union workers looking to avoid CA income taxes on their pensions. Liberals talk a good game about the “rich” avoiding taxes, until it happens to them. Sadly, they’re probably still voting DEM after the moves.

Trump did receive almost four million votes in Calif.
That was primarily due to shortage and that one player, I can’t recall off the top of my head who it was, bought all the available they could lay their hands on.
