The media has made it sound like a terrible idea to have our military on our own border, makes it sound like they are holding Americans prisoner or something - most people would not mind it at all.

No border wall is going to stop millions of Mexicans fleeing low Mexican wages.

OK, then. How about a border wall and claymores? ...Or snipers?

Until the “Anchor Baby” clause is removed from the Constitution, we will have aliens that can’t be easily deported and an alien invasion problem.

Canada’s leftist Premier Treadeau now allows Mexicans visa-free into Canada:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-pena-nieto-bilateral-visas-beef-1.3655746

They could then easily walk into the USA across the poorly guarded US/Canadian border.

I would have President Trump veto DACA renewal bills until two-thirds of the House of Representatives and Senate issue a proposed amendment giving each US newborn the citizenship of its mother.

SECTION 1. The federal government shall have the power to implement the IMMIGRATION REFORM and AMNESTY ACT of 2018.
SECTION 2. Previous federal immigration amnesties are hereby made Constitutional.
SECTION 3. The first sentence of SECTION 1 of Amendment XIV is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Henceforth, every child born in the USA after ratification shall be born with the citizenship of their mother as of 320 days prior to birth.
SECTION 5. No person may be granted US citizenship unless the person is over age 22 and proves US residence in at least 54 of the prior 60 months and lawful US earnings of at least $4,000 each quarter in at least 17 of the prior 20 quarters.
SECTION 6. No treaty may be entered into that would or could
require US residency, naturalization, citizenship or welfare benefits to be granted,
restrict/bar deportation,
impair US entry security,
impose any form of international taxation within the United States,
require any contingent payment from any domestic person or entity, or
other than a treaty solely with a domestic Indian tribe, remain in force in excess of ten years.
SECTION 7. No bill proposing an immigration/naturalization legal change and a federal expediture for any extraneous purpose may become law.

The Obama-era issued DACA ending date(s) might be extended three days for each state ratification.

The DACA II amnesty might be effective upon completion of ratification.

It’s not really bipartisan.

It doesn’t include all sides, both houses, and an effort to address the actual problems

I pretty much figured this was the case after what POTUS said yesterday.

“How about a border wall and claymores? ...Or snipers?”

Far more effective, yes.

However, if a Mexican gets shot or has a leg blown off, a US factory in Mexico might get burned down or looted.

We need to change our Constitution to eliminate the foreign mother with an US child deportation dilemma.

We need to change our welfare laws so invasion isn’t domestic government rewarded.

I looked at the Grassley bill last night and was just amazed at the complexity.

You’re right on, FRiend.

It’s only “bipartisan” with Dems and a few RINOs in the Senate, I seriously doubt it could pass in the House

“Path to citizenship starts AFTER the wall is built.”

All the Republican bills I’ve seen [Goodlatte, Grassley] include a long list of laws that could be used to block wall construction.

Good! Looks like this Senate bipartisan DACA deal is already DOA.

It was DOA before the threat. No way this bill gets 60 votes for cloture. None of the bills out there could.

Tiresome and worrisome that so many on FR seem to be unable to handle or recognize winning when they are living with it....with FRiends like them, who the hell needs enemies?

Maybe the business owners who have plants in any unpredictable country need to rethink their locations then. A small price to pay for security of the US.

This is what happens when you only have 51 republicans in the Senate and a small group of them are liberal. It is like being in the minority. The reason the 2018 midterms are so important, if we increase the Republicans to 55-60 votes then a few renegades can’t get their way.

True but it also doesn’t help when the republicans do all they can to keep the same or increase the numbers of that small liberal group. So just electing more republicans doesn’t in and of itself help resolve the issue. Elect 6 more liberal gop’s to total 57 then somehow 8 republicans will thwart any meaningful legislation to strengthen our immigration laws. The key is electing MAGA republicans in the primaries then follow through and elect them in the general when the gop-e attempts to sabotage them in the general.

Yes, but our president must return to his election promises.

At one point I was willing to accept 700k DACA people if everything else was right. But the DemonRats and RINOs have moved the goal post at the presidents suggestion to include 1.8 million. That's not progress, that is bowing to pressure from the worst that Washington has to offer. Pull DACA off the table and move forward with reckless abandon.

The tax bill was passed without DemonRat votes. Get them in line, use whatever methods possible including a few moderate democrats and pass a comprehensive bill in the House. Use public opinion in the most forceful way including the nuclear option in the Senate to get it passed. A public flogging of McTurtle might be required but just get the House to pass a signable bill and use every ounce of energy to jar the at risk Democrat senators to sign on.

Let it go to a Vote and pass the Senate...

WHO even in RAT infested states is going to run a campaign for re-election supporting the AMNESTY of 10 MILLION Illegals, many who are not even here yet?

Think of the fertile material they will give the Conservatives in ads to run against them.

‘Not only do they want to give Amnesty to those currently here, they want to INVITE MILLIONS of low skilled, low wage earners to flood your state and take YOUR chances of a job away. They also flood your schools, hospitals, jails and prisons and also mean the amount we have available to help those Citizens struggling MUST be cut.’
