Medicare and Medicaid started as mostly Socialism-FFS Fee For Service. Both R and D realized that FFS was not working. So they went to Corporatism, what Adam Smith called Mercantilism, and what Socialists call Public-Private-Partnerships.

Now with tens of millions of people added to SSI/SSDI and Medicaid, we are discovering that Corporatism is (almost) as flawed as is Socialism.

As bad as VA and Tricare which is a lot of trouble with the roll out of its new system. Bad enough the DoD MANDATE on Tricare Life that all daily scripts are gotten from Military base or Express Scripts. With the USPS just shoving meds in unsecure mail boxes NO ID required. These are NOT inexpensive meds. Whelcol for Cholesterol for 90 days retails at $1,000. If you send it back, then some one is not going to get their meds for over 2 months. Just easier to take it over to their house as most are somewhere with in a few houses in a large Ret. Military area.
