So much for having armed guards. A few teachers with a gun would have solved the problem quickly.
So is this an attempt to downplay the “good guy with a gun will take down the bad guy with a gun” argument that is going towards arming teachers and school staff that wish to be armed? Seems oddly timed for this to come out after the President’s support for arming them. Dem Sheriff with other political aspirations in a liberal enclave only releases this information now? Smells to me.
No security guard should be allowed to carry a smart phone while working. I see that all of the time. Guards are watching TV and screwing around on Facebook.

After the CNN spectacle last night I can understand why.
Only the old fart guards are on Facebook. The younger crew is on Instagram, of course.
I heard a reference made by one of the parents of the dead that there was a video of the hallway, as he told of his daughter fleeing, being shot nine time in the back during which her spine was severed. I haven’t seen any on-scene video like that, either.
The left has said:
“Teachers have ENOUGH on their busy plates without having to take long, exotic classes on arms tactics..!”
Fair enough, but this most recent news shows that high command of weapons use played ZERO role in this high-school massacre:
Even a teacher with command of the VERY BASICS but a Will To Intervene would have been FAR better than a Sergeant Rock who for some reason shivered in the corner, doing nothing.
The answer is clear:
ARM THE TEACHERS.
At least one of the students would have inevitably told the public about the deputy’s refusal to try to stop Cruz, and there’s probably no other way the Sheriff would have (finally) released this statement.
According to a report, he was with a female student. Doing just what, was not explained.
