Looks like they want to use the guy as a scapegoat - many who rail about him being a coward may fancy themselves the types that would run into a hail of bullets but they won’t ever know for sure unless the “opportunity” arises...in their “disgust of this coward” they are helping the Left use him as the example you pointed out....
The SWAT team at Columbine didn’t enter the school for an hour after Klebold & Harris killed themselves.
There are plenty of examples, especially recently, of cops who shoot innocent people, who are fully complying with police instructions, posing no threat to the cops.
...Post Combine LEOs are trained to go in immediately and kill the threat. No waiting for Swat as the perp will kill until killed or running out of ammunition.
This is about saving kids. Rogue cops are another issue.
They need to hire a combat vet and pay well for such a job. Problem with that is the left would not stand for it, considering their absolute hatred of anything military. They’d rather hire one of their own, over pay them, then blame the results on guns, the NRA, the Republicans and Trump.
Seriously, let’s assume they did hire a combat vet, a situation like this happened, and the vet just took the jerk out, very efficiently, before he shot anyone. The left would still get their panties in a wad. Probably take the side of the poor perp that got his $hit blown away.

He wasn’t ‘just present’. HE LIVES on the campus. He gets paid north of $100,000 a year, and he also lives ON THE CAMPUS.
