“Raise the age to purchase a rifle from 18-years-old to 21.”

This would include a .22 boys’ rifle to go plinking with daddy in the woods?

“What Flake is really saying is that he has no repercussions for voting in favor of gun control legislation because he’s not running for re-election. His constituents are hardcore Second Amendment supporters and he knows that. He no longer has an incentive to keep his promise to his constituents because he’s no longer having his back scratched in the form of votes and political contributions.”

Exactly. Flake lied repeatedly to Arizona voters. He has revealed that he has always been an oath-breaker, only constrained by how much he could get away with.

To be fair, he was mentored by John McCain, who operated exactly that way his entire Senate career.

That gives Republicans in Congress cover.

and that's what it's all about for hacks like Flake. Deflecting responsibility for anything substantive so they can promise their constituents everything- just elect me one more time. Just make me president. Go home, Flake. There's an adult in the White House now.

If Flake were a real conservative, he wouldn’t support government operating outside its authority.

If Flake were a real conservative, he would recognize that Article I, Section 8, gives the general government no power to make gun laws.

If Flake were a real conservative, he would promote the repeal of all laws that exceed the government’s area of authority.

But he’s not...

"• Prevent those who are on the "no-fly list" from purchasing firearms."

NO NO NO NO NO, a thousand times
NO
since there is no due process. The same situation exists as with Obumbler and his removing the entire staff from the DOJ/FBI/NICS appeal process, but legally much more devastating.
