China is the 11th largest source of steel imports. How can this be about China?


The gist here is that many of those products that have a Made in Italy label are actually mostly made in China, but qualify for a Made in Italy label because a trivial amount of value-added was tacked on in Italy.

We import less steel from Vietnam than we do from China.

U.S. companies have been doing that for decades. Import a shirt from Malaysia and have the buttons sewn on here in the U.S., then put a “Made in the USA” label on it.
