ary D. Cohn, President Trumps top economic adviser, plans to resign, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Trump administration, White House officials said on Tuesday.
The officials insisted there was no single factor behind the departure of Mr. Cohn, who heads the National Economic Council. But his decision to leave came after he seemed poised to lose an internal struggle amid a Wild West-style process over Mr. Trumps plan to impose large tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
Gary has been my chief economic adviser and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again, Mr. Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. He is a rare talent, and I thank him for his dedicated service to the American people.
Mr. Cohn is expected to leave in the coming weeks. He will join a string of recent departures by senior White House officials, including Mr. Trumps communications director and a powerful staff secretary.

Yeah exactly!
Don’t let the door hit ya ....
Yes Trump appointed Cohn. Politics is art of the possible. Cohn did what Trump wanted. Now will not, so impossible to keep him.
Now on to whomever will do next step on Trump agenda. Trump listens to advisors. He does not let them govern.
Any chance he can take McMaster, Jarad and Ivanka with him?
He’s an Advisor. He’s not there to make policy.
He also opened his big Democrat mouth about Charlottesville.

Even without the impending trade war, there is going to be an economic downturn at some time. It’s inevitable. And when that downturn comes then Trump is going to have to depend on Steve Mnuchin for advice on how to pull us out of it. That’s scary.
The Master gets a new student.
Trump does seem to like to use specialists.
Look how used Manafort to get the GOP nomination, then he was gone.
I think Manafort was from the time after the primary was mostly wrapped up, until after the convention.
Mr. Sessions the President is ready to see you now.
Good-bye Gary.
Now, lets impose more tariffs!
MAGA
Addition by subtraction.
Yeah, I heard that he was working with Paul Ryan to try and stop President Trump from imposing tariffs.
Good riddance. I don’t have any problem with the comings and goings of these positions in the administration, because it’s like the President said the other day...
“The new Fake News narrative is that there is CHAOS in the White House. Wrong! People will always come & go, and I want strong dialogue before making a final decision. I still have some people that I want to change (always seeking perfection). There is no Chaos, only great Energy!”
Lunatic left says everything is in a tail-spin, Trump is done, he can't win, etc...since 2016
Yep, next guy is probably oriented more toward trade and tariffs.
DOW futures are down 300 on the news but after a good night’s sleep I think they’ll rally on Wednesday.
Priebus pushed Sessions
He is also a democrat.
