“We’d need a restraining order to make sure they can’t come back.”.......

As Trump builds the “border wall” he needs to extend that wall completely up the eastern border of Kalifornica, it’s already become a “foreign” country full of illegals anyway.

Seems I recall when that state was deemed “The land of nuts, fruits and flakes”. Nothing has changed.

California is a great place. The people of California are great Americans. Unfortunately California has been kidnapped by the filthy criminal city states on the coast. The best case scenario is the big one occurs and both LA and San Francisco fall into the ocean taking their fruits, nuts and illegals with them. How about the sovereign country of San Franangeles?

The California “engine” wouldn’t be able to pass its own emissions test.

If we did divorce, I wonder how many Americans would “escape” to California; and how many Californians would likewise “escape” to America?

Why do you advocate for conceding territory to the enemy of free people? You want them to control invaluable ports, beaches, farms and parks?

IF they somehow secede, invade them and subjugate them.

Just for the record, the invasion is in progress and carried out by the Border Patrol and ICE. The actual invasion was accomplished last week when AG Sessions declared war while visiting the state.

A state of war pesently exists.

How can the “loyalists” there assist in retaking Cali?

The US needs to declare California in open rebellion against the Federal Government and invade, crushing the rebels underfoot, hang the bunch as traitors.

The US can now do that thanks to the 14th Amendment added when they found they dare not touch Jefferson Davis.

Davis demanded a treason trial so he could prove states (back then) had the right to secede. Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase dared not give Davis a grandstand. He might have proven his case, so they passed the 14th Amendment to bar him from politics in the future.

In my view the loyalists can not effectively prevail. The populous cities under corrupt governments will never allow political power to reach the hands of the less numerous and widely distributed good guys.

The same is true of New York and all the Northeast.

Thank you for that history!

If those libs in CA don’t remember history, they are doomed to repeat it...

You would think "The engine of the American Economy" would be able to generate its own electricity.

Or provide fresh water to its people, not import it from out of state.

Or build its own railroad tracks without help.

Man, that's gonna be a long, expensive wall - all the way from Texas to Canada!

It is a most interesting idea, isolating CA to become its own country. There are enough Californians in OR and WA those two states might demand to be included.

OK. We would have the ports in the Gulf and the whole East coast. But what about all that Pacific trade? Would they be willing to go around South American with their container ships?

We might have to make CA make some concessions. Maybe a whole lot of them?

Ten years is too long. I want them gone before the 2020 election. I say we split in August 2020. Two and a half years is plenty of time to make up your mind.

Just build a double wall. One along the border and one just below Orange county to the Az border. Keep Camp Pendleton and San Diego. There is the west coast port.

Grow some Juevos (Pelotas, Bolas) and enforce the laws of the land.

Arrest and remove all illegals.
Prison for law-breaking judges and politicians.
Prison for citizen offenders.
Hang traitors and those guilty of sedition.

Do it at the point of a gun.
It’s be done before.

Trump’s “Freedom Marches To The Sea”.
30 mile path from state border to ocean, direct at San Diego, LA, and SF.
Barbed wire fence with a “No Man’s Land” on both sides.
Shoot/kill/bomb everything that moves.

Would make an AWESOME movie.

Would the conservative rural counties be allowed to succeed from California and rejoin the United States as a new state?

You have exactly the wrong perspective on the situation. If the leftwing nutbags running California decide to go full retard, it won't matter one whit what they "allow". There are plenty of us who will break off from the main state and rejoin the union as our own state, and the limp-wristed queers can cry all they want.
