Cut off food and fuel deliveries and electricity, which is not difficult, and the cities turn into cauldrons of anarchy in hours. Most city dwellers are painfully lacking in survival skills in such a situation. These are people who call 911 when Popeye's runs out of chicken. They wouldn't be able to start a cook fire let alone prepare food on it.
Within a week any governmental authority that remained would not be able to cope with the dead bodies.

Actually this article is BS. If a state secedes vi referendum then the WHOLE state is under new authority. The citizens of the new country can be drafted, have the right to vote, and will have rights under that new countries constitution. They may not like it but that is tough sh!t. All of this bellicose insurgent talk is crap. If CA were to vote on secession and become an independent country there would be no rebellion inside of CA. Have you heard what comes out of the mouths of black Army soldiers when talking about “their white American” flag? How about the future officer corps at West Point with Che T-shirts or groups of black cadets with raised fists in solidarity against “the man”.

I fear Mr. Schlicter is far too sanguine. Just look at how NY, NJ, CT, CA and many others are incrementally pushing their citizens around. 7-10 round magazine capacity? Give me a fricken break! Supplying a few million man army in CA would be difficult, if not impossible.
And once they left the coasts things get rather sporting. We have a lot of space that could be used to chew up any advancing army. How many only sons of Chinese parents do you think that they could lose till their population snaps?
