McCabe just made life tough for Comey and the special counsel
The Hill ^ | Jonathan Turley

Posted on 03/17/2018 10:05:22 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Following his termination late Friday night, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe declared that he was “singled out” after “unrelenting” attacks by President Trump and critics. McCabe’s objections are less than credible, given the virtually unprecedented recommendation of career officials to fire the one-time acting FBI director.

However, McCabe may have rectified his “singled out” status with his long statement criticizing his termination: In the middle of it is a line that could be viewed as incriminating fired FBI director James Comey, not just in leaking sensitive information but also in lying to Congress.

McCabe is accused of misleading investigators about allegedly giving information to a former Wall Street Journal reporter about the investigation of Hillary Clinton and the Clinton family’s charitable foundation. McCabe asserts in his post-firing statement that he not only had authority to “share” that information to the media but did so with the knowledge of “the director.” The FBI director at the time was Comey.

“I chose to share with a reporter through my public affairs officer and a legal counselor,” McCabe stated. “As deputy director, I was one of only a few people who had the authority to do that. It was not a secret, it took place over several days, and others, including the director, were aware of the interaction with the reporter.”

If the “interaction” means leaking the information, then McCabe’s statement would seem to directly contradict statements Comey made in a May 2017 congressional hearing. Asked if he had “ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation” or whether he had “ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation,” Comey replied “never” and “no.”

McCabe says he’s got notes on Trump. Is this a threat, or an attempted Boschkmail. Isn’t it amazing how his criminal core springs out?

I doubt Jed Clampett (Jeff Sessions) had the balls to do this without a mountain of evidence.

That's a very odd comment.

Would you be stupid enough to go after high level players such as McCabe prior to obtaining all available pertinent evidence?

So here's my question: WHY HASN'T COMEY ALREADY BEEN INDICTED AND DONE THE PERP WALK? He LIED to Congress, he admitted to leaking information and has probably done much worse.

Once a willing and compantant prosecutor starts in on the illegalities of the Obama admin (and the rest of the swamp) there is a high probability it will result in the indictment of a great many of the "right people" (basically the self selected elites of DC). Likely to include Obama, Clinton, much of the leadership of both the Republican and Democrat parties, long serving congressional staffers, and many high level civil servants. Note here that Obama went to all the right schools to be part of this crowd.

McCabe asserts in his post-firing statement that he not only had authority to “share” that information to the media...amazing - McCabe came to Priebus early in the administration and told him the FBI had no problems with the way Trump had interacted with the Russians before the election - when Priebus asked him to make that information public, he said he couldn't do it - only when the info helps him cover his own a$$ is it apparently justified for him to release internal FBI matters......

Neither Obama or Clinton will ever get indicted.

Should they? An emphatic HELL YES!

As Comey says in his book, he and his cabal of traitors have a ‘higher loyalty’ than to the truth

I read that he will lose 1.8 million dollars worth of pension. How in hell can someone who works for the taxpayers deserve that kind of money?
Yea that REALLY pisses me off too.

We're talking "government pension" not investments.

To accumulate $1.8 million you have to salt away $90,000 (tax paid dollars) a year for 20 yrs

Sessions is a coward. He got stood down to recuse himself when there is no Russia there, he let Comey, AL Franken, Rosenstine and Mueller drive a truck over him. His cowardice has threatened the office of the President, the Constituton and the nation. This never should have happened, and he let it happen.

Prof. Turley has earned my respect for his clear-headed analysis of these new developments in the Mueller/FBI/DOJ/Dossiergate scandal.

Now it looks like there is going to be an internal fight among the corrupt FBI and DOJ leaders, which will undermine any credibility Mueller’s probe has. It is tainted so badly that the “fruits of a poisonous tree” have spread far and wide, and that means maybe even nailing Obama, Holder and Lynch for professional misconduct and unethical behavior.

Hillary will get hers soon. She is beginning to sound like Transnanny Pelosi, a blithering, bumbling, blathering, incoherent buffoon.

Hey Judge Roy Bean. You’re going to need more rope.

#86. I wonder if Priebus kept notes or a tape recording of his meeting with McCabe.

Wouldn’t that be a hoot!

In that case, I’d root for Reince baby.

It’s a year plus later and I STILL can’t believe the election wasn’t fully rigged ofr hillary to win.

I know illegals voted by the millions.

But i’m talking about a sure fire way that hillary couldn’t lose.

I guess i gave hillary and obama too much credit.

Or maybe obama just didn’t like hillary that much.

Or maybe it’s just REALLY HARD to completely control a presidential election.

This is more than criminal arrogance. There's a spiritual dimension to this reformation that is not incidental or ancillary.

When Obama said "fundamental transformation", he was ultimately referring to the human spirit, and he wasn't talking about a beneficial or godly transformation.

We're getting our chance to overturn that process while it's still incomplete, but that means fighting demons, in the flesh and otherwise. Laugh your mad giggles now, but later it becomes undeniable.

Don't be caught standing on sand spiritually, in this fight. Just don't.
