Border Patrol agents within just a few hours on Tuesday seized over $1 million dollars worth of marijuana from two abandoned vehicles.

The first incident occurred near Garceno, Texas when agents observed a Ford F-150 leaving the Rio Grande at a high-rate of speed.

Agents responded to the area and found the vehicle abandoned. In the bed of the pickup, 50 bundles of marijuana were found, weighing at over 600 pounds and worth an estimated $500,000.

Just hours later, agents near Fronton, Texas witnessed several suspects loading bundles of marijuana into a Chevrolet Trail Blazer. The driver fled to Mexico when agents approached, leaving 76 bundles of marijuana estimated at $713,000.

Both vehicles were seized and the marijuana will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The audacity of law enforcement. This never would have happened if Obama was still around.

Instead of destroying the weed... sell it to states where it’s legal.
And use the funds to build the wall quickly, and to pay for immigration enforcement.

I always figured politicians on both sides were profiting from the drug trade over the border and that’s why they are so adamant about wanting to leave it alone.

“Mexican dirt weed.”

LOL! That’s what we called it back in the late 70s when I lived near the Rio Grande.

Target practice! I thought one of the arguments for legalizing dope was to help destroy one of the Mexican drug cartels source of cash.

Does anyone know the current average black market retail price for a quarter ounce of good bud?

In 1990, the price was $40. Adjusted for inflation - $76.

I'm wondering if all the legal and quasi-legal marijuana grown in the USA has had an impact on the cost.

At some price point, the profit for smuggling marijuana into the USA will not be worth the risk.

Weed today is just as cheap and plentiful as it was back in the 70’s when the war on drugs was declared. The US has spent billions on this war and it has not changed anything except the prison population.

Your prices are WAY OFF!!!

Back in the 70’s a Pound was $100-$150. Now one would pay $100-$200 for 1/4 oz of nice bud. Way better quality than back in the day.
