IG Report That Took Lyin' McCabe To The Woodshed Also Confirmed Something Else...Again

While Katie wrote up the scathing IG report that cited the many times former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lied under oath to investigators and the DOJ inspector general about the bureau’s investigations into Hillary Clinton, it also re-confirmed something that fell by the wayside in recent months. That the FBI was indeed investigating the Clinton Foundation, something that then-FBI Director James Comey refused to confirm or deny. It also detailed the fallout from the leaks to The Wall Street Journal, which reported on the friction between the DOJ and FBI over the Clinton Foundation probe:

As detailed below, the disclosures by Special Counsel to the WSJ on October 27 and 28 included statements effectively confirming the existence of the CF Investigation. Prior to October 27 and 28, the FBI had not publicly confirmed the existence of the CF Investigation, or issued any statements to the media discussing the details of that investigation.

All that is known publicly is that the Clinton Foundation is now being investigated by the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas and the FBI agents detailed to his office. USA Cody Hiland was nominated by President Trump in June 29, finally confirmed by the Senate on September 28, and took office October 10, 2017. FoxNews reported in early January that USA Hiland was already investigating the Clinton Foundation.

It matters who is President and can nominate DOJ officials, and who controls the Senate which must confirm those key nominations, however slowly.

Well you see you know how America loves a sex scandal and how we demand moral purity among out leaders. How can you forget the Blue Dress and the Starr investigation and how that turned out?

Blew up in his face, went nowhere, and we are all disgusted that he wasted time, money and good political capital to pursue a sex scandal. Every time we see Starr's name in print we wince [well, between friends some of us swear and smash the pottery].

I always assumed the IG report is the basis for prosecutions, therefore MUST be secret.

Now, a narrow tranche about McCabe is released.
Because that tranche is no longer required????
Have they flipped McCabe, who has provided evidence against others that checked out as 100 % accurate?

If the report reveals the CF investigation, that raises the question whether that investigation has now been terminated since the FBI does not confirm or deny specific investigations in progress.

I've seen reports that the CF investigation was stopped in early 2016 because of the election and then started some time a the very end of 2017.

That the FBI was indeed investigating the Clinton Foundation, something that then-FBI Director James Comey refused to confirm or deny...J. Christian Adams said tonight on Fox that the really big bombshell about the Clinton Foundation is that the report also says that some high level DOJ official - politically appointed - called Mc Cabe a month before the 2016 election and ordered him to stop the FBI investigation into the Foundation - official's title but no name was included in the report - Adams says people are backtracking now to find out just who the person was - sounds like politically motivated obstruction of justice at least......

Hmm...so far today it’s been Chris Christie, Paul Begala, George Stephanopolous, and Lanny Davis all getting their licks in. If I were Comey I’d be looking at a name change and a nice secure compound in a country with no extradition treaty...
