“The police are only doing their jobs.”

Sounds like it was cynically enacted by a city council that got tired of complaints. They know jolly well that it’s going to get the neighbors feuding with one another about making the area guest-hostile. They don’t want to be caught in the middle. (And anyhow, how does a body MOVE into or out of one of those places? By permit?)

Something sane would be a time limit for drop-off/pick-up activities. It would also be abusing things to sit there half an hour while suitcase after individual suitcase was carried in. Pull it all off into the yard and then go.

“I know of at least two homeowners who have been ticketed for parking all night in front of their own house.”

Commonly done in some areas, including mine during the winter.

Only during declared "snow emergencies" in Pennsylvania.

The democRATS who run the city near me took them all down. First they weren;t making any money, and were in fact a safety hazard and causing accidents when somebody jams on the brakes not to get caught “running the light”

Red Light Cameras = Fewer “T-bone” collisions and MEGA rear-end collisions.

Technically, the car is moving at the speed of the rotation of the Earth and orbital velocity, which is about 80,000mph. But who’s counting?

That’s one way to reduce the tourist crowds.

When I was a kid there, Butterfield was lined with HUGE Eucalyptus trees. All gone now.

The city government told 4WWL that Schulz’s most recent ticket was dropped and that the contractor that handles the tickets will have its employees properly trained to manage the data it receives from the camera.

Ha? How can you NOT be properly trained to notice a car is going zero miles per hour in the photo?

South Lake Tahoe is bad, tourism way down from past decades. My parents would take our family there just about every year, getting a cabin on the lake shore that was both dirt cheap and wonderful. All the little cabins are gone a few decades ago, the little mom and pop stores are gone, and replaced by huge resort hotels. A lot of casinos went belly up when Indian casinos opened in California. Some people trying to rent out their homes as B&B are being pestered, probably because the huge resorts want a monopoly. South Lake Tahoe used to be great for blue collar working families, now it's affordable for the well to do only. Good reason to stay away and not give them the tourist dollars. Oh, I also hate local government trying to run government on outrageous traffic fines.

My wife used to spend summers on Tahoe with her family in them 60s. What she knew is all gone. We just bought a house on a lake in Idaho and she says it is like the Tahoe she knew back then. With almost 40 million people, much of CA is ruined. The Bay Area alone has 7 million people and I swear every one of them was on the road today. Freeways were at a crawl on a Saturday! Idaho has 1.7 million in the entire state!

“racing through town at the blistering speed of ... 0 mph.”

Reminds me of the old Celica “Looks fast” ad campaign

How else can they afford those wonderful Cop pensions given to 40 year old retirees for the next 40 years?
