Nolte: The Media’s ‘Sean Hannity Standard’ Is a Wonderful Idea!
breitbart ^ | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 04/17/2018 8:54:12 AM PDT by davikkm

From what we know so far, conservative talker Sean Hannity had a limited business relationship with Michael Cohen, who is also President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, and who just had his offices, home, and hotel room raided by the FBI. Because Hannity is a commentator with four hours to fill every day, he has a lot to say about the raid. But now that a partisan judge (to say the least — the swamp is deep, my friends) has forced Cohen to reveal that Hannity is a client, everyone in the establishment media (read those with much lower ratings than Hannity) have the knives out because Hannity did not reveal this potential conflict of interest.

So desperate are they to bloody Hannity, the media have just done a very good thing with the creation of what we will call the “Sean Hannity Standard,” a standard that demands commentators and reporters disclose any and all potential conflicts-of-interest pertaining to the story or person they are reporting on.

What a wonderful idea!

Over at the far-left Politico, Michael Calderone writes, that Hannity “should have disclosed that he’s a client of Cohen’s.”

Can we add to this that members of Congress disclose their special interest, K Street sponsors?

Wasn’t it Sarah Palin who recommended (maybe a bit tongue-in-cheek ) that they wear the logos of all their sponsors on their jackets like many athletes do.

And since the basis for the search warrants assumes that Cohen was doing non-lawyerly things for DJT, can we now get a warrant for Perkins Coie to investigate their money laundry facility?

Let the disclosures begin. Any reporter who refuses, obviously has something to hide. I’m sure all those msm heads with spouses in the previous obama administration were squeeky clean.

Oh gawd, that would quickly expose how many reporters have close links to the Democratic Party or major Democratic Party donors.

So...

The Democrat run FBI run questionable raids on Trumps lawyer, fishing for yet un-named crimes... and this lawyer also does work for Hannity..

So, HOW does this mean Sean Hannity is a criminal again?

agree, I called Gerry Connolly’s office who said Hannity should be fired. Asked his staff when the Congressman would be calling for the termination of ABC chief Political corespondent Little Georgie Stephanopolous seeing as he is obviously conflicted as a former Clinton press secretary communications director and as revealed during the presidential debates, donor to the Clinton Foundation.

I would love to see this screen message every time ABC’s George Stephanopoulos appears on TV:

Mr. Stephanopoulos is not an unbiased newsman. He once worked as an advisor to Bill Clinton.

Good!

They can begin by disclosing who their "anonymous" sources are when they know who it is and have them on their panels for other topics.

Why shield us from these prior relationships?

I found it odd and a bit humorous that Hannity being named would cause embarrassment to him. I for the life of me can’t imagine why.

Little Georgie’s association with the Clintons is widely known. Hannity’s with Cohen wasn’t......until now.

...the “Sean Hannity Standard,” a standard that demands commentators and reporters disclose any and all potential conflicts-of-interest pertaining to the story or person they are reporting on.

Sean had David Limbaugh on to comment about a topic the other night, and in the introductions he made the "full disclosure" that Limbaugh had negotiated his radio and TV contracts.

It also irellevent. It is an infatile attempt, as usual, but the Leftist clown posse to distract and defelct off the topic with an utter irrelevancy.

The legal matter Hannity consulted with Cohen is not a public matter. Hannity using his soap box to point put the grotesque over reach of the FBI in violating “Attorney Client Privilege” has NOTHING to do with his relationship with Cohen. It has to do with the rabid lawlessness of a suppose Law Enforcement agency and an out of control Federal Judge

This whining about Hanniety is just the usual infantile stupidity from people on the Left who cannot made rational adult arguments for their views and instead throw up their nonsense to deflect and distract their criminal misconduct and abuse of power.

The way it typically goes is it will be discovered that Sean was paying some bimbo to keep quiet. Hope not.

When are these guys going to learn? Buy a whole! You’re not paying her just for sex. You’re also paying her to keep her mouth shut. And keeping her mouth shut is part of her business model.

Really, you can’t tell the difference between Party A and Party B having the same lawyer VS Party A is the EMPLOYER of PARTY B?

Hannity connected to Cohen, Cohen connected to Trump
Stephie connected DIRECTLY TO CLINTON see the difference...

PS: your name is the same as the worst sportscaster ever.

But why would Hannity suffer embarrassment by the disclosure? That was a defense Cohen and his team used to not make the disclosure.
