Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been in talks to join the President Donald Trump’s personal legal team, according to a person familiar with the matter. No decision is currently final.
A slew of foreign policy matters which Trump has had to deal with has slowed the process of expanding the president's legal team, according the person familiar with the matter. Trump’s time has been absorbed by North Korea and Syria, which has limited his availability to speak with potential new members of his legal team.
Giuliani did not immediately return a request for comment. But he is a close ally of the president, having campaigned closely with him during the 2016 election. Giuliani gave an impassioned speech in favor of Trump at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

There have been rumors going back to late in the campaign that Rudy isn't quite as sharp as he used to be. I hope he is in excellent health and mind. The President needs someone like Rudy to have his back.

Despite his past achievements, I’d take a wait and see attitude - look at all the cheers that went up for the appointments of Sessions, Tillerson, HR McMasters, Mattis et al. Not a strong track record there. Say the cheers for when the action is actual done.
Giuliani has always been a loud and staunch advocate of citizenship for illegal immigrants. He'd make a terrific attorney general /sarcasm>

I'm glad someone else on this thread isn't partaking in the weird Giuliani lovefest around here. It's as though Giuliani's across the board liberalism and his advocacy of citizenship for illegals has been completely forgotten and forgiven just because he can talk the good tough-sounding talk.
