I'm old enough to remember Howard Cosell's "Little Monkey" incident (http://howardcosell-littlemonkeycomment.blogspot.com/2011/03/look-at-that-little-monkey-run.html). That controversy was quelled by Mohammed Ali, who defended Cosell. More blacks need to speak out about this sort of PC BS.

Plenty of whites picked cotton, too.

Cotton picker
The mechanical cotton picker is a machine that automates cotton harvesting in a way that reduces harvest time and maximizes efficiency. Mechanical cotton picking began to be practical in 1944, when International Harvester produced the first dozen of their successful commercial cotton pickers.

Political correctness is mass self delusion, limits the individual’s ability to think and analyze and above all makes people who subject themselves to such limitations very easy to control and manipulate. It is a prerequisite for socialism.

More blacks need to speak out about this sort of PC BS. Of course. But the Libs shame them into staying on the plantation.

Are you kidding? They use this kind of crap to further advance their agenda.

What bothered me was the Journalist apologizing for saying it. I think it was John Wayne who said, apologizing is a sign of weakness, and he’s right.

...slaves once upon a time picked cotton in the South.
So did white people.
The first one to mention race is the racist.

I like my mom and her sisters, for their dad a poor white Texas sharecropper.
That's my white privilege, my folks taught me a work ethic.

The cotton picker didn’t completely replace the human until the 60’s.

slaves once upon a time picked cotton in the south...so did everyone else...
the term comes from the fact that time seems to go slower when you are picking cotton...something a slave owner would know nothing about, so if someone uses the phrase, it is because someone in their family actually picked cotton at one point... but don’t let that get in the way of a good lynching.

“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. Ones standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.” ~ Theodore Dalrymple

Worth repeating BOLDLY and LOUDLY!!!
I tell people all the time, I get to choose MY words. They can choose how they react to MY words, but I get to choose MY words - PERIOD!
The INHERENT LIE behind political correctness is the idea that the person hearing the words KNOWS the whole thought process and feelings behind those words from within the mind of the speaker! AT BEST, someone can ASSUME a thought process, but without indisputable context to support said conclusions, it is nothing more than someone else putting THEIR thoughts on the words of the speaker words and then deriding the speaker for the listeners PERCEIVED intent.
You can no more know the entire intent of my words than I can know your exact reaction to my words. DELUSIONAL is the absolute best description!
