The old USSR just sent people to gulags. The modern US learned from that debacle. They just ruin your life. It’s cheaper and they may even get money out of you. But at the end of the day, there really is no difference.
Would this kind of racket survive a trip to the USSC? I’m unsure that even the Wise Latina would swallow it. Maybe this fellow has friends who keep urging him to push, push, push to get the profile this deserves.
Years ago, Jesse Jackson opined that there are a lot of pensions out there with a lot of money in them and somehow all that money needs to be accessed.
Sounds like it has been done.
City Hall: big enough to make you utterly miserable, and small enough to slip between the cracks.
Count me in.
I was a 61 year old man with my pet Maltipoo in my car on Thanksgiving Eve, headed to Algonquin (suburb of Chicago) to surprise my wife who was visiting the grandkids. We live in Kentucky.
I was in my fairly new Scion FR-S and was driving rather erratically at 11:00 p.m. because GPS had gotten me off the freeway too soon and I was in west Chicago trying to get back to the freeway.
The cop pulls me over and asks why I’m driving crazy. I explain my situation and, believe it or not, no citations were written. However, I did have to wait for the drug sniffing dog and handler to show up to give me the once over. It was kinda funny. I told the cop I hadn’t touched Marijuana since 1977 and never touched anything harder but they could be my guest on the outside of the car. The handler was almost embarrassed to do it, but he went around three times.
If they had impounded it would have changed my life because I’d be dead now, and maybe one of them too.
It sure feels that way, and yet that’s just to bow to the demons already ruling over that hell.
One doesn’t launch a revolution without the conviction that one both can and will do it right.
We actually use a route to Algonquin (when we see the grandkids) that takes us up through Joliet. I have not been to Chicago proper in many years, except for one excursion on a Megabus.
Big Al would be impressed.
“On June 21, 2016, Chicago police pulled Spencer Byrd over for a broken turn signal. Byrd says his signal wasn’t broken, but that detail would soon be the least of his worries.”
Chicago cops, street muscle for an evil, corrupt political machine. Same thing with guns. Even though no crime they will seize them and you will play hell getting them back.

I wondered why God pushed me out of there. Now I know why, I think. Yes... Even Maryland is better....
Shitty Hall.
As the old saying goes, “People get the government they deserve.”
They voted for it...................
...and he’ll still vote Democrat....................
And he will still vote Democrat................
This is “cornered Rat” behavior.
In wealthier environs, Rats are expensive but not this grade of affliction.
The trick is to know when to jump the sinking ship.
“If Al Capone had been in politics......................”
Mr. Capone wouldn’t have tolerated this shit. There is a story that Louis Armstrong was performing in one of Capone’s prohibition era speakeasies and someone stole his Trumpet. Al liked Louis and his music and found out about the theft. Several days later Louis got his trumpet back. Identity and fate of thief unknown.
Man, for the days when villains had better morals than our modern officials.
Alcohol prohibition was a mistake, a sign of declining bible message consciousness. Evil is a thing that is in souls rather than in drink.
Maybe Al would have been a more honest politician than what we have now in many places.
I read about Capone having some standards.
Car-jacking, Chicago style.
