A twofer: PMSNBC loses a TON of money, and the most annoying, self promoting host on Fox moves on.
Megyn Kelly put herself in a very difficult spot.
When she was sandwiched between O’Reilly and Hannity, she had the benefit of an excellent timeslot and her presentation was friendly to Fox News viewers. She was conservative enough, independent enough, and tough enough to keep the viewers from changing the channel (or turning off the tv).
The fact that she was easy on the eyes didn’t hurt.
Then she blew it with her performance at the first GOP primary debate. The typical Fox viewer/Trump supporter was alienated by her antics. Was she on her own and wandering off the reservation? Was she following marching orders from upstairs? Did she see her stunt as a torpedo to Trump that would sink him?
She wasn’t wrong. She was spectacularly wrong. The die was cast. Many Fox News viewers no longer trusted her. She mad some new friends on the left and anti-Trump Republicans, but neither had any devotion or loyalty to her. She was just used to them.
There were never many Megyn Kelly viewers. There are Fox News viewers.
Now she’s hustling her tired act to an audience that just isn’t warm to her. Conservatives don’t like her. Liberals don’t like her. She isn’t warm or engaging, so non-polical people are indifferent.
This was very predictable.
Brilliant move on her part, showing NBC just what they wanted to see by going after Trump and then taking them for millions. She makes even the best hookers look like amateurs.

The same types of executives thought in hiring Joy Reid she would be the equivalent of William F. Buckley. As in Major League that was “just a little outside.”

Yeah, even if it tanks, she’s going to walk away with a ton of cash. Can’t say I blame Megyn Kelly. If anything I can at least respect that she managed to make NBC bet a large amount on her.
Yes, she fleeced NBC for even more than Joe Flacco did from the Baltimore Ravens...
I told my wife when Megyn left FOX that she’d never make it with the alphabet networks...all their audience is liberal, and they knew Megyn was with FOX, therefore didn’t care for her much; of course, the FOX viewers were angry with her for her slip-sliding into liberal views, and her attack on Trump.
She had no audience, and why the geniuses at NBC didn’t see that, is astounding.
But, I think I could make it the rest of my life if I had $69 million in the bank...without working.
Seems everything they touch turns to sh ...so where exactly is NBC getting all this money to throw down the toilet?
Speaking for myself, I don't watch ANY of the alphabet network garbage, even though I cut the cable 4 years ago.
Problem is many of us are stuck with ISP's like Charter/Comcast to provide our internet...as such, they can make up the loss of TV rev. by jacking up ISP prices.
Bingo, she lost over half her viewers going after Trump, I stopped watching fox (cut the cable) I was so pissed.
One, Megyn Kelly outsmarted them. Sure she is a rating disaster but she doesn’t care - she’s got the multimillion dollar contract even if she will soon follow Katie Couric into broadcasting oblivion. As for the execs at NBC, live and learn - in your new jobs.
I’d hit it. I’d have to stick a sock in her mouth to shut her up though.
