I have no idea why Trump insists on that, other than the alleged fact that the witch got more popular vote. Our Founders decided that was not the way to elect the president. They made the right decision.

Good point. Those touting Hillary’s greater vote count don’t know how many _would_ have voted for Trump if their vote actually meant something (vs Electoral College neutralizing any excess votes in a jurisdiction).
With those votes being cast & meaningful in a popular vote, Trump would then just have to sway the votes of “half plus one” of the remaining difference. Given a year where he’s gaining supporters, even cracking the bedrock of the Left’s base, his success as POTUS would likely sway enough for him were his second term be counted by popular vote.
All that said, I think he’s just trolling - embracing another Leftist talking point, causing them to flee their own in terror.
What happens if the popular vote is too close. Will there have to be a national recount?
The electoral college was put there by the founding fathers. I’m always amazed at how insightful they were.
