EU FURY: 'Appalling' Juncker snubs millions as he celebrates Karl Marx's 200th anniversary

JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER is set to pay tribute to Karl Marx at a celebration of the father of Communism’s 200th anniversary in Germany, leading to accusations he has forgotten about the many millions of victims of his ideology.

...

The European Commission President will travel to Trier, Germany, where he will give a speech to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Marx’s birth.

Mr Juncker has invited to the celebration because he is an honourary citizen of the small German town, which is also the birthplace of the German philosopher who was one of Marxism’s founding fathers.

The Commission President will give a speech at the opening ceremony of the Karl Marx exhibition in the city.

Mr Juncker will appear alongside Malu Dreyer, the minister-president of Rhineland-Palatinate, who extended the invitation to him.

To be fair social democracy owes its origins to Katrl Marx’s tireless work on behalf of Europe’s working class.

The Social Democratic Party of Germany, founded in 1875, was Europe’s first Marxist socialist political party.

We need to abandon Western Europe and the UK. They are not free. They are not our friends. We need to get our troops out and exit NATO.

“I think that nobody can deny that Karl Marx is a figure who shaped history in one way or the other.

“Not speaking about him would come close to denying history.”

*******************************************************

So why not celebrate Hitler’s birthday?

Well, he was a noted philosopher who used England and Germany as examples of future socialist states. Not...ahem...Cambodia and various pre-industrial societies.

Of course, he was one of the most vicious anti-semites breathing at the time. A guy who made Wagner look warm and loving.

Socialism/Communism is still influential.

Socialist/Communist regimes still govern parts of the world even with the disappearance of the Soviet Union/Eastern Bloc.

Nazism is completely dead as an ideology. That’s why Karl Marx is the political thinker of the 19th Century.

He is still followed by hundreds of millions of people around the world.

It could be said that Vladimir Lenin born in 1870, helped to birth the totalitarian side of Marxism.

The split on the Marxist Left was about whether democracy could advance political and social reform without revolution.

Social Democrats insisted capitalism could be tamed. The Communists held only a through transformation could produce a socialist society.

We know the outcome of that debate and I don’t think even Marxists think man is still perfectible.

Socialism was never going to lead to the classless utopia people imagined would be the end result.

Celebrating the birth of a horrifically evil person!

These types claim to hate Nazis, but without Karl Marx, there would never have been an Adolph Hitler.

I am a child of the Enlightement.

If I’m asked what side of the divide I’m on liberal vs Marxist, I would say liberal.

I believe in formal equality vs substantiative equality and I champion freedom over central state planning.

The French Revolution had a positive impact on humanity - Marxism on the other hand by and large was the God that failed.
