At his ranch, John McCain urges Joe Biden not to walk away from politics

Battling brain cancer at his family ranch in Arizona, 81-year-old Sen. John McCain has been sharing his hopes for the future of the country and reflections on his political life with friends who visit. For former Vice President Joe Biden, McCain's message was a simple one: don't "walk away" from politics, Biden told The New York Times, describing his conversation with the Arizona Republican.

Biden has yet to make any announcement about whether he will run in 2020, after declining to run in 2016 following the death of his son, Beau. After visiting McCain last weekend at his ranch, Biden told the Times the Arizona senator is still preoccupied with the future of the country.

"Here John knows he's in a very, very, very precarious situation, and yet he's still concerned about the state of the country," Mr. Biden said in an interview. "We talked about how our international reputation is being damaged and we talked about the need for people to stand up and speak out."

I love it. After one sentence, the story becomes about Biden. You feel the love, John? THAT’S what your lefty buds really think about you.

So I guess "damaging international relations" means something like NOT giving the mullahs 115 billion US taxpayer dollars on a pallet? in the middle of the night? Stuff like that? - Got it.

I really wish John McCain would just DIE ALREADY

John McCain is a legend in his own mind. He’s only going to be remembered as a foul tempered curmudgeon using petti devices to obstruct people agendas.

May he rest in peace ... soon.

“Joe, don’t walk away from politics. You should die a bitter, vengeful, hated man like me.”

When I think of McCain, coming home from the hospital, I am reminded of the film The Public Enemy (1931), when Tommy Powers (James Cagney) was delivered home...

Can't be too concerned about it if he is encouraging Joe Biden to stay active in politics.

How our international reputation is being damaged, Joe and John?

Tell that to Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae-in for starters.

There is a line of thinking by conventional, old time pols that if only the US is nice and gives things to other countries, they become our friends and fall in line with American thinking (whatever that has evolved into over the past couple of decades). Hasn’t worked yet. I keep seeing in my mind’s eye the photo of Madeline Halfbright dancing and acting like a fool with Kim Jong Il. Talk about international embarrassment !!

John McCain knows that he can still vote for a Democrat, even after death.

His WIFE’S ranch. The rich woman he left his wife for...the one that suffered for years, faithfully waiting for his return. McStain never earned a damned penny in his life (outside of bribes).

And please pick Kamala Harris — the dumbest human being ever to be elected to the US Senate — as your running mate!

LIBEL! I can think of several people in the history of the Senate that are worse. /S

So, he’s still at his ranch, drawing a senator’s salary. What a patriot.

You know, so many times that quote has been misstated. Thanks for pointing that out. McCain never got over that. Trump could cure cancer or solve world hunger and McCain would still fight against it. Rather ironic.
