There may have been a lot of us who were early precursors of the TEA Party, but this was the first time I remember the acronym started being used nationally. It was a rant by Rick Santelli on some Chicago trading floor. It really was the first national exposure, the acronym grew to be used by a lot of organizations, and there were national protests for over a year. This was what lit the fire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APAD7537RN0

This blockhead (the author) doesn’t even know what she’s describing. She’s describing a populist movement, because all Trump supporters know he’s more qualified to run the government than all of the losers in Washington combined.

I assume VOX is a left wing website. Interesting that some left wing writer can discern whether Trump is big government or not, which he is not if you judge him by how he has governed.

Not surprised at all the Tea Party is all in for Trump. The Tea Party has been from its start all about draining the swamp, including the GOP swamp.

As I read further the writer blames him signing the spending bill. Apparently the writer failed basic civics. Trump can’t erect a budget. He was relying on a do nothing Republican lead Congress who handed him this monstrosity. One can argue how he politically could have handled it, but he had little wiggle room, since his own party are a bunch of sniveling big spending wimps.

Awesome. Tea Party is a hope; GOP is mostly dead, others sound asleep. Precious few be able and willing to force DC back into the _chains_ of USConstitution.
