I have no doubt that food prices will increase at every opportunity. Not because the cost to produce and process rises all that much, but because greedy processors use any and all excuses to raise prices. I remember, years ago, when the cost of chocolate and coffee ballooned. Processors promised the increase was temporary, and prices would come back down as soon as conditions causing their increase, improved. Of course, prices never dropped.
Now I’ll just go put on my armour, and wait for Rinos to attack and accuse me of being anti-capitalist and anti-free enterprise.
...greedy processors use any and all excuses to raise prices.
Put down Marx and try ECON101 before embarrassing yourself further.
Because consumers adapted and demand never really fell. Producers then see that consumers are willing to pay said price - so no incentive to lower them.
