Trump White House's feud with John McCain and the war against political correctness
NBCNews ^ | 5/25/18 | Keith Koffler

Kelly Sadler, a White House communications aide, made a crack recently during an internal meeting about how Sen. John McCain’s opposition to President Donald Trump’s CIA pick, Gina Haspel, didn’t matter because McCain is “dying anyway.”

Once the remark was leaked, presumably by someone who doesn’t much like Sadler, the media — mainstream and social — exploded as if the stock market had crashed.

What a horrifying thing to say! Proof of the rottenness at the core of the Trump White House! Off with her head — that is, let’s get her fired and ruin her career!

Of course, it was not at all a nice thing to say. And yes, Trump says many, many not nice things. And it could be that his rudeness and crudeness trickles down to the staff.

But Trump’s directness has been a big part of his appeal, even to evangelicals and other “deplorables” accused of hypocrisy and obtuseness for backing a profane man. They were tired of being told what they are allowed to say and think. And nobody is going to tell Trump what to say.

The most important outcome of Trump's victory won't be any particular law or policy, important as those may be. Rather, having a President who is willing to say "things you aren't supposed to say" liberates everyone else to say things that need to be said.

Case in point: prior to Trump, most of the debate within the GOP was on the best way to one-up the Democrats on giving illegal immigrants amnesty. Today, we're talking about replacing chain migration with chain deportation.

90% of the people on this forum either said or thought the same thing. I guess that is why they think we are deplorables.

I really don’t see the issue. McCain IS dying and what he thinks DOESN’T matter, because’s no longer an active Senator.

I don’t see anything non-factual or even rude about her statement - it’s simply the truth and if the snowflake crowd doesn’t like it, that should be THEIR problem.

The real problem wasn't with her statements, it's the fact that we have a culture where anyone who feels offended by something is not only entitled to a public platform, but is allowed to silence any speech deemed "offensive." Trump's presidency may cause just the culture shift we need from this modern-day book-burning and witch hunting.

Let’s be honest and remember, it was Trump hater McCain who started this “feud”.

Has anyone seen old lord McCain these days. This jerk took an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. He apparently, maybe, is too sick to work, but still collects a paycheck... But, supposedly has the wherewithal to write a book. He under the cloud of darkness, supposedly, pops off against everything, a duly elected president has the Constitutional power and authority to perform.

Mitch the Senate ought to investigate whether old lord McCain is actually well enough to speak. I think ‘we the people’ have been tortured enough by this wee man, who views himself above the rest of US.

I think we wait a few months and this thing will die down, so to speak.

Any feud going on is all on McCain. IIRC Trump even endorsed him in his senate campaign. McCain and Romney are backstabbing slimeballs.

They don’t want to let go of Kelly Sadler’s comment in a PRIVATE MEETING. But she was right. When it comes to votes in the Senate, John McCain is irrelevant and he doesn’t matter.

McCain left Washington before Christmas LAST YEAR and hasn’t cast a vote for almost six months. He’s not doing his job. I suspect that after May 31st he will resign so that Governor Ducey can announce the agreed upon successor and that UNELECTED successor can then be in the Senate and won’t have to stand for election until 2020.

Satan and the globalist UNIPARTY never sleep.

What you observe is just a more extreme case of McCain’s recent political career: he could rarely if ever bring himself to criticize Obama or Clinton in even the mildest terms (except to say that they’re on the right track, just not getting there effectively enough), only to be all energized and full of pi$$ and vinegar when there’s an attack against Trump and his supporters to be made.

Oh how soon the left forgets (willfully, being the hypocrites they are)-the movie made about the assassination of George W Bush? Kathy what’s her name posing with an effigy of President Trump’s decapitated head? Some tenured professor calling for the extinction (extermination) of all whites? And too many more to remember? And not once did any of them apologise. To the contrary, they usually double down, with their moron fans cheering them on.

Petty personal vendettas have been the main force animating McCain for decades. McCain’s hatred for Trump and for Trump’s supporters gives him a reason to keep going every day, and I suspect that it’s the main thing keeping him alive.

How heartless!

Just because McCain is dying is no reason to acknowledge the fact that he's dying!

But it’s only bad if leftists and their fellow travelers are “offended”. They can offend conservatives all day every day, and they’ll suddenly remember “freedom of speech” when they do it. But don’t dare to offend, for example, someone such M-13 gang members who torture and murder people, even children. Or Muslims, who are the leading source of global terrorism (it doesn’t even make national news when one chops off the head of a co-worker because she refused to convert, or if it does make national news, you have to read between the lines to figure out that it was a Muslim).

Lord McCain opposed the very existence of the W. Bush presidency... He and that orb Kristol did everything they could to run Rummy out of the Defense Secretary position... They wanted Gore's veep pick Lieberman to be their defense secretary... Wonder what it was in that move for them? Lord McCain has a history of mouthing off and then fully expects the masses to bow down to him. IF he is as sick as is claimed, he sure does not have the wherewithal to be spouting off about Trump's CIA pick.

Similarly, you have to read between the lines to figure who the perpetrating "youths" or "teenagers" are whenever urban violent crime is being described, particularly when the victims are white.

I started to add that, but I worry that I’m already on the “rayciss” list here.
