The New York Times has corrected a crowd size estimate it provided following President Trump's rally in Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday night, after receiving sharp criticism from the president.
The paper on Wednesday stated that attendance was more than five times larger than estimates it had originally reported.
While no exact figure is available, the fire marshals office estimated that approximately 5,500 people attended the rally, not about 1,000 people, the correction stated.
The correction comes after the president railed against the Times on Twitter Wednesday morning, accusing the newspaper of intentionally underestimating the crowd size and of being comprised of "very dishonest" people who don't "get" him.
The Failing and Corrupt @nytimes estimated the crowd last night at '1000 people,' when in fact it was many times that number - and the arena was rockin. This is the way they demean and disparage. They are very dishonest people who dont get me, and never did! Trump tweeted to his 52.3 million followers.
Etc...

Well, good for the NYT on issuing the correction....
I’m tired of this game the NYTimes, et. al., always play.
Deliberately lie, obtain the desired effect, and then publish “a correction” on page A26 sometime later when no one is looking. This gives you cover in the event someone calls you on it.
Bull Puckey
yes... and by a factor of 5. Which is about how much they multiplied the attendees to Hillary’s events.
Wasn’t “misunderestimate” a W. Bushism???
Ha, ha, I remember many years ago the exact opposite. The local TV news reported Bill Clinton had 5,000 at his rally when it was only 1,000. They carefully omitted the empty part of the stands in their camera pan.

Thanks yesthatjallen.
A delayed and tepid correction to their intentionally fake journalism. Don’t call it reporting because true reporters deal in facts while journalist deal agendas and their own stardom.
Trump campaign rally
So the NYT can’t tell the difference between 1000 and 5,500. Gosh, that really says a lot about the quality of their reporting.
Maybe they aren’t biased, just totally incompetent.
Major Garrett on CBS This morning must have read the slimes because he said the crowd was paltry and people were leaving in droves - they are so dishonest, no wonder people don’t get their news from the msm anymore.
We can always rely on them to print fake and biased news detrimental to President Trump at every opportunity.
And they are persistent in their attempts to spin the news to minimize his positive achievements and popularity and maximize negative news about him. Yellow Journalism Yellow journalism and the yellow press are American terms for journalism and
associated newspapers that present little or no legitimate well-researched news
while instead using eye-catching headlines for increased sales. Techniques may
include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism.
is that photo real?...I counted three other persons that were like the ones circled
Demonrats can’t handle the truth.
