Trump attorneys' letter to Mueller spells out legal arguments against Trump sitting for interview
Fox News ^ | 2 June 2018 | John Roberts

President Trump’s legal team sent a letter to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in January outlining many reasons why the president should not sit down for an interview.

Fox News has obtained the letter, which offers a detailed look at the president’s legal team and its thinking about whether he should submit to an interview, including the argument that under the law and the U.S. Constitution, Mueller faces a high bar in trying to prove he needs in-person answers from the president.

Trump attorney Jay Sekulow and then-Trump attorney John Dowd challenged Mueller to prove there were questions remaining that had not already been answered in the avalanche of documents the White House and the Trump transition team provided to Mueller.

The letter, dated Jan. 29, 2018, was titled, “Request for Testimony on Alleged Obstruction of Justice.”

“This letter will address the recent request by our office for an interview with the president,” the letter began.

Who leaked the letter?

><

Probably the president’s legal team. It is a good move.

The President of the United States does not have to be interrogated using fabricated charges as the basis.

Even entertaining the request legitimizes the illegitimate.

In a just world, Mueller and many on his team would be investigated and charged with crimes starting from years ago.

“And the OIG report is going to be a huge slap down of Mueller”

No it’s not. Too many of us are hoping the IG report will be it, finally we get some justice. Wrong it will only cover the FBI’s handling of the HRC’s e-mail and I think it will only amount to a scolding that it could have been handled better. That’s it, expect no more and you avoid disappointment.

He does appear to be in need of a Health check up...

He has aged greatly during his year of searching and finding nothing...I’m sure he is deeply disturbed that he can’t find any crumbs...

This total nonsense is Democrat controlled and they are all nuttier than fruit cakes..Remember in November and ROAR LIKE A LION, we did it in Nov. 2016 we can repeat and repeat.

This is America...not the Middle East, someone needs to inform B.Hussein O. of that fact...

Mueller staff attorneys’ response: 20 page letter? More billable hours just reading it, man.

When you have nothing to hide it's understandable that you wouldn't fear questioning. But in this case Muller and his several dozen Rat Party assistants are not looking for justice...they're looking to topple the "king".

Under those circumstances I wouldn't have a single word to say...regardless of how innocent I was.

Fox is running this subject to death!! Scream!!! I want to get on that tv and tell them to get hillary... get obama.... get them and THEN talk about this side...
I don’t know how Trump goes on and on... waving to the camera... making decisions... and they are all after him!!! This is so unfair... enough already!!!!!!!! the guilty are in charge of what goes on and on and on...

once the democrats are back in the Presidency, there will be NOTHING they won’t do.. they have done this and tried to hide it... that won’t be the case... they won’t care who or what... and there will be nothing to stop them. If you are in their favor, you’ll be ok... if you are a conservative or a Christian or someone who does not like them... you will be their target.. merciless and all out war against us!

God bless President Trump. It takes real guts and faith in God to put up with the shenanigans of the mentally defective left.

FROM JANUARY? But it’s a HEADLINE today?

Mueller could not care less; he’s getting paid by the hour.

Exactly. Any investigation into the spying on the Trump campaign would have the same outcome. I'm not sure if there will be such an investigation because there is still redacted into (e.g. in the Schiff memo) that could justify the spying. But everything that is being revealed now points to unjustified spying and in fact a sting operation by Halper (paid spy) and Downer (Clinton ally). Not sure of the status of MIfsud who is currently vacationing on Mars.

My unbiased view is that any administration that signs off on such spying is hopelessly corrupt and/or stupid. But the likely outcome of an investigation will be "extremely careless" like Hillary or not as bad as Hillary.

This was put out because of one point:

There was no collusion, and obstruction charges are impossible.

True. The difficulty for our Constitution-loving and law-abiding President is that he can't fight fire with fire. The law abiding and freedom loving people always get screwed by the law breakers and authoritarians. But at this point the best strategy is to take the high road and appeal to independents who will vote for the good economy.

Hey.. sad truth ... and i have a 6 yr old grandson who is too good for what he’s growing up in.. God has to keep an eye out for him.
Obama unleashed the hordes of hell on this land..the millions who voted for him twice were out of their minds.

There is a song called Wasted Years... its hard to listen to.. due to wasted years.
