President Trump’s legal team sent a letter to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in January outlining many reasons why the president should not sit down for an interview.
Fox News has obtained the letter, which offers a detailed look at the president’s legal team and its thinking about whether he should submit to an interview, including the argument that under the law and the U.S. Constitution, Mueller faces a high bar in trying to prove he needs in-person answers from the president.
Trump attorney Jay Sekulow and then-Trump attorney John Dowd challenged Mueller to prove there were questions remaining that had not already been answered in the avalanche of documents the White House and the Trump transition team provided to Mueller.
The letter, dated Jan. 29, 2018, was titled, “Request for Testimony on Alleged Obstruction of Justice.”
“This letter will address the recent request by our office for an interview with the president,” the letter began.

I hope everyone here reads your posts today and thinks about the difference between complacency or passivity and the need to take this battle to the Dems and not let up.
The least we can all do is find like minded good people to vote in the midterms like we did for Trump. Trump forever is not guaranteed by the 2016 upsurge. Register and vote.
After that, it is true “this problem will not be solved at the ballot box” as far right commentators have said. Boycotts,emails,demonstrations and direct fights against the media may help. The Civil War II part is what we all hope to avoid.
What do they need a legal argument for? No crime was committed. There’s a little thing called the US Constitution and in the 5th Amendment, it says, that you don’t have to talk to anyone. And that’s the end of it.
Why do his attorney’s play into the hands of Mueller and the Media? Flip the script and challenge Mueller, Rosenstein, et al, on the legality of this “investigation” and how it is funded, etc. Let the country know what’s up.

I agree HELL NO. They should gave included in the letter notification to Mueller they will file for a hearing before the SCOTUS on 1. The Appointments Clause Article 2 section 2 of the constitution the Mueller appointment is illegal because only the President can appoint US attorneys which Mueller is action as along with his gang of lawyers.

The Appointments Clause is part of Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, which empowers the President of the United States to nominate, and with the advice and consent (confirmation) of the United States Senate, appoint public officials. There is a case about this now at the SCOTUS Luciav v SEC. argued on 4/23/2018
2. Rosenstein should recuse himself because he has a conflicted. Sent the letter to fire Comey. Signed one of the FISA warrants. Mueller is also conflicted.
3. This investigation is still being run as a counter Intel investigation with no Intel to support it. Started months before the FBI had even open a case which violates FBI rules
4. The SC was set up to investigate Trump with no crime stated that they were investigation. There has to be a crime before you can appoint a SC. Also counter Inter investigations are not criminal ones and Mueller is running a criminal investigation.
There are more things to list but we will stop at 4.
They are correct, he doesn’t have to sit for an interview unless Mueller can provide facts of obstruction he needs clarity on, and all Mueller has is “semantic-speak” nothing concrete.
